Murray balling out to start the 2nd.
Yeah he played a lot in the first half because Murray picked up two fouls early, and the Nuggets rested their starters in the 2nd half so he played a huge stretch late. His shot isn’t dropping or he’d have had an incredible line.

It's encouraging that an 11 pt 7 assist game doesn't look like his ceiling. He definitely left points out there.

Monte keeps winning over Nuggets' observers. Gordon Gross of denverstiffs.com had this to say about Monte in his recap of last night's game vs. the SAC Kings:

Monte Morris is just the point guard Denver needs off the bench right now. He missed some shots he should have made tonight but his quicks on defense, his steady hand at the tiller on offense and his unflappable demeanor really helps a bench that can get fidgety at times. He stepped in for some of Will Barton starter minutes tonight when Jamal Murray got a pair of early fouls, but also led the bench that wrapped the game up with a bow, letting the starters stay on the bench down the stretch. Also, from that same article, one of the guys in this picture is an undersized guard who is going to have a good career in the NBA and the other got Adidas money:

Niang had 2 pts in only 4 minutes in Utah's 5th game of the season, a win over Houston (100-89).

So far, he's averaging 7.8 minutes, 3.7 points and is shooting 42% from 3.

I think that'll be pretty close to Georges average for the season assuming no major injuries for Ingles/Crowder/Sefolosha/O'Neal. The Jazz are very deep 1-15 with a lot of player combos, it good to see him get 10 minutes actually. Really encouraging stat is the 42% from three, keep it there or even improve can keep Niang in the league for a long time.

Monte is taking full advantage of his opportunity with Thomas and Burton injured and seems to really be getting trust of the coaches and teammates. He may have the back up PG duties locked up by the time both return.

BTW TNT games tonight should have a lot of ISU interest to us.

Thunder play the Celtics 7PM
Nuggets play the Lakers 9:30PM

DNP for Burton tonight vs. the Celtics, as the Thunder blew a huge lead in the 2nd half. Nader did not dress; I wish I could find out if the knee or wrist is still a problem or if he's not yet in game shape due to the injuries - or something else.

Burton is with the big club and now that G League camps have opened, I think that means he's used some of his 45 days of the two-way contract.
