Way up there
As great as he was in college, Monte is probably even better suited to play PG at the NBA level. Especially as offensively oriented as it is these days. This is just the beginning for him.

It appears that Malone is starting to trust Monte. After he had a good run in the 3rd and Morris was subbed out, Malone brought him back in quickly and sat Murray because the Nuggets were out of sorts. I wouldn't be surprised if we started to see 3 guard sets with Morris, Harris, and Murray.

Monte also is starting to look more confident on the defensive end.

On the Fan Sided site Thunderous Intentions, Lawrence George has an article about 5 targets to help the Thunder's shooting woes. At the end of the article, he suggests waiving Nader to make room for one of these players. His article seems to confirm that Abdel's progress has been hindered by injuries. With their 0-4 start, Nader may be vulnerable. I hope that he could get a chance to get on the court to show what he can do (they can use his shooting). Here's the excerpt on Dooley:

Ferguson and Nader’s future
In an ideal world, the OKC Thunder would trade Ferguson, waive Nader and sign Bullock with Korver. TFerg is one of the most polarizing young guys on OKC’s roster, possessing elite athletic ability but a frustratingly inconsistent shot. Other than a 24-point outburst against the Lakers last year, Ferguson has done very little to suggest he is a contributor right now. His play through three games in 2018-19 certainly do not support the infatuation Donovan has for the 20 year-old.

Nader’s health is an issue. Since his arrival to OKC, the Egyptian has been dealing with knee soreness, costing him the entire training camp and opening games of the 2018-19 season. The 25 year-old is occupying a valuable roster spot which could be used on someone who can play now. The 60th pick in the 2017 draft hasn’t proven to be an NBA player and was cut from Boston after just one season.

On Denverstiffs.com, there's a roundtable of local sports writers on the Nuggets' season so far. Check out this opinion on one of the questions:

What is the most surprising thing about the Nuggets right now?

Gross: Excuse me while I break out Monte Morris for this part. The bench desperately needed a viable point guard during each of the last two brutal playoff misses, and Morris appears to be that point guard now. He fit in next to the starting lineup last night, has a steady hand for the bench, and has turned Mason Plumlee back into the best backup center in the NBA (although him being healthy probably helps too). Having a PG who can settle the bench down and grind out decently-productive possessions is very helpful long-term, and will be crucial to Denver’s success this year. Dang - this guy is 5 games removed from being on a 2-way contract and he's already being touted as this kind of a positive influence. It's remarkable and there are probably people thinking, "Maybe we should have given this guy a shot last year."

Good work, number 11.

IState, I understand what you are saying about last yr, but I wonder how much he learned and gained in experience from that yr. Not that I know Monte at all, but I can only guess that he learned from it and made him more determined.

Once he got his chance he sure is making the best of it, and it sure is fun to watch. On a distracting sidenote (for ISU fans) I wonder if Amber Rose is still in the picture?

I think he always knew he get a chance but it's fleeting.

This Isaiah Thomas crap is what burns me

Georges Niang played 11 minutes (8 rotation minutes and about 3 minutes of garbage time) in a big Jazz win over the Pelicans tonight. A. Davis did not play due to an elbow sprain.

Georges hit his only shot - a 3 - and was 2-2 from the line for 5 pts. He had 2 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 turnovers (matching the total that Monte has for the season so far :)

The way Monte is playing, I don't believe IT will bump him. Denver will figure a way to get both of them minutes. They are starting to play Morris alongside Murray as it is. Plus they aren't paying Thomas much more than Monte, https://www.spotrac.com/nba/denver-nuggets/contracts/ , so there shouldn't be pressure from the execs.
