What does this have to do at all with my post. I said I don't think firing Hoiberg to save money makes sense, because they still have to pay him.

But I don’t think they are trying to save money. They are getting rid of a coach that showed very little potential.

I watch 60 min of NBA a year and knew that Chicago was a dead end job full of misery. If Fred really believed it was anything else, then he was a fool. Sorry.

He got $25 million...he didn't want to recruit or deal with fans. In Chicago he clearly didn't have to worry about either. : )

I hope he gets a front office job...I think he'll be happiest there. Maybe a GM/HC job at some point...but that could be a tough sell at this point.

I don't understand how you aren't getting this. I didn't say they are trying to save money. Because in fact, they aren't. They still have to pay him. I was disagreeing and pointing out "saving money" is flat out incorrect, because it's not saving money.

Again, I think that is the line he used. I’m not sure why you think that comment was off the record.

I’m not sure why you care if I believe he told you what you wanted to believe. There are thousand of idiotic opinions on here. Maybe mine is one of them. I don’t think so.

You never responded as to why you think CW was prepared to write a hoiberg to Ohio State column if it was such common knowledge that he would never coach in college again??

Fred was given very below average NBA teams.

The management signed old man DWade to play Hoiball? What the hell kind of move is that?

It was a dumb move but did it surprise anyone? Gar and pax have done a terrible job running that **** show. Fred knew who he was working for.

It was well publicized he thought that quote was off the record

I don't remember CW said he had a column ready for Ohio State

Remember when CW said he basically had an article written about Fred coaching at Ohio State? And then Fred said that was false? There was a reason why CW thought about writing that and it wasn’t because he thought there was no chance Fred would coach in college again.

The “hates recruiting” line was always ******** to placate Iowa State fans and most of them bought it. He never hated recruiting as much as he didn’t like coaching at Iowa state. And that’s understandable. It was a fish bowl for that family. He’ll take another college job at a more perforable school.
Which college is more capable of being perforated than Iowa State?

I mean just look at the guys they are playing this year. Two of their starts are Justin Holiday and Arcidiacano. And their bench is full of guys who should be in the GL. They have one guy starting who is an NBA level starter and that is Lavine.

I figured it was going to happen this year with as bad as the Bulls are right now. It's not entirely his fault, the best coaches in the NBA couldn't make that crappy roster a .500 team this year.

If Reinsdorf knew what was best for his franchise he'd fire Paxson and Foreman too and get himself some front office guys that can actually build a winning team. Fred was THEIR guy that they had to have, they ran out a successful coach in Thibodeau just to hire him and have no vision or plan with the roster they have right now. Even before Fred they sat on valuable trade assets too long and didn't get much if any return on them. The Bulls are a big market franchise that used to be a place everyone wanted to play but the way the front office has managed things lately they are turning into the Knicks where no big name free agents want to sign with them.

I forgot how crazy jsb goes in Hoiberg threads.

This is like Christmas!

Imagine how fun I’ll be if he does take a college job!?!

The gods honest truth is that I’m playing this up for fun at this point. I have a reputation to uphold! And if he didn’t want to coach here, then I’m glad he isn’t the coach here no matter what the reason. I’m sure he’ll be real happy wherever he lands next.

But you should all think about why stating my opinions gets everyone so riled up.
