But will they ever attract the free agents to get to a complete team that can compete? Credit to them for signing Towns instead of losing him like most of their previous young guys. But I won't believe they can be a contender until I see it.

CFH played a nice role here for a few years. It was not known by everyone that we would be in worse shape in 3 years. Some Chicken Littles, yes, everyone, no. As it turns out we are in better shape.
Bulls fan here too. There have been way too many WTF moments for GarPax. The DWade signing made no sense after they had just said weeks before that they wanted to go in a younger direction. The Parker signing was dumb this year, he plays the same position as their best player and is not a SF. Jury is out on if LaVine is worth the money they gave him, he's a nice complimentary player on a good team but he's not a superstar. Their draft picks have not really been that impressive partially because they miss on guys and many times they were just mediocre enough they picked at spots in the draft it's hard to find the types of guys you need to build a roster with.
Really? Maybe last year seemed like three years, but the previous two were not underwhelming. We went to Sweet Sixteen in Prohm’s first year and won the Big 12 tournament the second. In both years, we finished with over 20 wins and 10 of more wins in conference.
Any incremental help CFH could bring here would be outweighed by the distraction. CFH can send CSP a video of some inbounds plays and that should do it. Unless he has connection to a recruiting pipeline somewhere but we know that is not what CFH does.
Let him remain a Cyclone legend, welcome him back with fanfare occasionally and let CSP do what he is doing.

What college job that is bigger than Iowa State won't be a fish bowl? Because of the constant roster turnover in college sports, the head coaches are the biggest celebrities of the programs. He'll be in a fishbowl wherever he goes if the program is "bigger" than Iowa State. You don't think the head coaches at UCLA, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky live in fish bowls?
