Adidas didn’t break any laws.
What? A company can pay handlers to direct a player to a school and no laws are broken? Not following or some laws need to be passed.
Adidas didn’t break any laws.
Why? Because of a bias against KU? There is no proof he knew anything and the guardian and de Sousa have turned over all bank records. Think if this was an ISU player. NCAA is trying to look tough but is totally wrong as usual to punish this kid.

I think both sides have to show payment/received payment for tax purposes. Both would be braking laws.Adidas didn’t break any laws.
Yet another player taking the fall for KU’s recruiting tactics. Great work by KU framing the narrative on what the player knew, but the real continual violations are centered on what KU repeatedly knew.I wouldn't call this a slap on the wrist. Slap on the wrist would be "time served" or maybe the rest of this year. They're making him sit out the rest of this year and next. Sure, we'd all love to see K-Boo get the death penalty (was never going to happen over this), but I'd at minimum call this a slap to the face.
They do have a right to complain about UNC, but it doesn't change the fact Kansas finally is paying the price for cheating. **** em
They are violating securities laws.If Adidas didn't break any laws, there needs to be new laws.
DeSousa probably left this morning on the first plane to Europe
They are violating securities laws.
If you really want to do something about this then create a law to make it a crime to undermine a athlete's amateurism. Basically, anyone providing these gifts, whether individuals or companies, would be subject to prosecution. That would remove the burden from the NCAA and also provide a means for subpoena power to investigate. The tricky part would be that this would need to be at the federal level to prevent states from looking the other way to benefit thier own interests
Hmm, Gato was convicted of federal fraud charges, he was an Adidas employee, just because the CEO may not have known about it does not absolve the company from liability
He gets sentenced in like a month.
Oh and lets not kid ourselves, Nike arranged Williamson to go to Duke as well.
One thing that would help minimize this stuff is the NBA just letting these kids into the league out of high school.
I mentioned this in another thread, they need to follow the lead of MLB or the the NHL, having several rounds of drafts, allowing kids to participate in minor leagues or retain their rights if they choose college for a couple of years. And let the kids have signing bonuses that professional teams provide regardless if they go to school or go to the minor leagues
I mean Murray got a signing bonus from the A's he could not play baseball for his college team but still play college football? Crazy.
It is just plain stupid to make these kids have to play college ball for 1 year..
NO, the way to undermine the black market is ALWAYS to make it legal and above board.
