I wish more of our fans would say something about it.

Don’t try to fight them or anything like that. But make it uncomfortable

idk, stay classy, ISU

From my most recent experience. Went to the Chiefs playoff game against Indy. Girlfriend took an ISU blanket and had it wrapped around her while we were tailgating. Someone walks by our tailgate and yells, "Cyclones suck". Turn around, shocker, dbag wearing Iowa hat. We did not say a word, just gave him that, "Jesus, dude, you are such a Richard" look. Our whole tailgate just laughed at him as he skulked away, and our friends aren't even ISU fans.

I don't like it. Zero point in wearing Iowa State apparel to a game we're not involved in.
I agree to the extent that it's lame at a conference opponents place (or UI). At the KSU/KU game is dorky.
At a ASU / Cal football game? Meh.
At pro games of any sort? Absolutely rep ISU. I see Tigerhawks on TV at Chiefs, Twins, Cubs, Bears, etc. games all the time. Good for them, rep your school.

And while I'm at it good for UI & the Tigerhawk and KSU & the Powercat. Recognizable at any event. Too bad ISU can't wise up and start using the Johnny Orr tornado.

Way up there
I have issue with someone wearing another teams clothing, I wear ISU stuff every gameday, regardless of where I am.

Most Hawk fans I've seen do this aren't total dbags but a few years back when we played Colorado in Sioux Falls, there was a Hawk fan dress in Hawk gear, cheering Go Hawkeyes during the game. That was the year they lost to the D3 team open the season, a few of us made comments to him about that loss....he had no clue what we were talking about. Hawk fan summed up perfectly.

My biggest beef with the whole deal was, why would ISU fans bring this fool to the game?

This taps into an overarching concern I have about Iowans. When they do something stupid, people tend to be patient and don't say anything. For instance, during a game, people try to move down a row to get to their seat during the middle of a play. I learned at my first Chicago Bears game 30 years ago that you never block someone's view during a play. Wait until the play is over if you can make it quickly or crouch in the aisle until a timeout. In Iowa, no one yells at folks when they do something stupid, so they are never even made aware of the problem. Hence, they never learn, but just keep doing it.

Your post reminds of the time ISU was playing KState in football and there were a few people in JTS wearing Nebraska shirts...Earle Bruce was the coach at that time......

Do you know these people or did you just randomly walk up and start taking pictures of them to post on the internet?

Yeah, several said Ku would win the game. So, I guess they were invested in a different sort of way. Still, have you ever seen fans of another school in Hilton wearing their colors to a game in which their team wasn't a contestant?

Off the top of my head I remember seeing a Wisconsin, Purdue and Nebraska shirt at Hilton on Saturday. So yes.

I wear ISU stuff to games that Iowa and ISU aren't in.
I've been to games at Wisconsin, Minnesota, Colorado, and so on.

I remain neutral and don't really cheer, just to watch. When Indiana played Kentucky at Wells Fargo, I was smack dab in the middle of their fan bases. Quite interesting to hear them bicker back and forth.

I was starting to get worried about both Michigan and Michigan State getting sent to Des Moines as 2 seeds. I don't want to be caught in the crossfire of those idiots while Im trying to enjoy my first NCAA experience.

Well they wouldn't play each other though since they are same conference until Sweet 16. So I'm that regards you'd be OK.
Kentucky and IU just cancelled their series, and they played each other. It was bad.

I know they wouldnt play each other, but its very possible both of them get sent to Des Moines as #2 seeds in different regions. In the event that happened I guarantee you there would be trolls sticking around the late session to cheer on whoever the other team is playing.

I see a few in Lawrence every week. I guess KSU fans just aren't that used to people just dropping in to see a high quality game...
