Posters said we had it at Oklahoma.

You can also make the argument that we had it last weekend against Texas as well.

At some point we have to give credit to TCU. We should not have given up 90+ to them at home, but they looked really, really good today. I think they would have beaten a lot of teams, even on the road, with the way they played today.

All debatable. I think of guys like: Thigpen, Willoughby, Eim, Tinsley, Stinson, Kane, Houge, Pratt, Bankhead. S. Johnson, etc

These guys found ways to win games and had a toughness that wouldn't let ISU lose

I wanted that to be the case, but really what I think it was was Shayok making two, incredible, low-percentage 3-pointers down the stretch. It was awesome, but I don’t know if it’s specifically what we’re talking about.

Lol, so you see no difference in losing to a 3 seed who made 14 3's that day and losing to a team that had just lost its last 3 road games by 10, 19, and 25? Its not even close to being an apples to apples comparison. Besides, thats the only loss that entire season, Prohm has shown time and time again he will lose multiple games in Hilton every season.

We couldn't hit anything outside, they were driving to the rim at will, and Jacobson was the only one who looked good at all on offense. To me this was the perfect time to play Lard and Jacobson together.
I actually thought that earlier.. and have tally and condit in for a breather.. I really do think prohm is a victim of having superstar guards that all need get their shots in though.

I'm far from a homer. I'm also a realist who understands the success of a college basketball team is not decided by a couple regular season games, and that sometimes coaches and players plain ass don't show up certain nights.

I'm not going to meltdown after a loss on February 9th. If this **** continues through the season, then I'll be right with you.

I got pretty bent-out-of-shape a few times in the gameday thread, during the game, I tend to come back to neutral a little in postgame-purge threads like this. Sometimes takes a while...

But some fans can't seem to let it go as quickly.

I’ll admit that if you admit that you have a small, simple mind that isn’t capable of nuanced thought and that your homerism blinds you from critical thinking.

I like a lot about Prohm. I also dislike a lot about him, particularly his in-game ability. The jury’s out still. If he can grow and hold players accountable, he’ll be more on the plus side.

Prohm's good with many things and his ability to influence players beyond the court should never be discounted regardless of the wins.

That said, his post-games (wins and losses) tend to have mention of how he should have done something earlier...which means it was on his mind. If the point deficit is bleeding like today, you have to throw a wrench into it all quickly and see if it at least throws the other team off for a spell.

You act like nobody ever bashed Hoiberg after loses. This vendetta that everyone is out to get Prohm on this board is getting really old. Prohm was undoubtedly outcoached today just like every other Iowa State coach has been before. Don’t act surprised though when people point out he wasn’t good today
I have no problem saying he sucked today. He did. It's just obvious that some can't wait till a loss to bash him, yet the reason they're so upset is because that same coach has the team in a position to do great things.

I think Prohm knows what his best team is and he’s sticking with it. I think he’s got the long game in mind at least. I just don’t think that sticking with your best lineup through thick and thin is the way to get there.

We like to make fun of Iowa’s guards looking slow on the perimeter but we certainly haven’t looked like we can stop 1 on 1 dribble penetration against a quick PG.

Same. If people saw or heard me while watching a game, they'd see the frustration.

I just don't get the immediate need to pin the loss on a coach, or certain players. It's like they need someone to yell at because they didn't get their way.

When ISU went up 13-4 on NWB's dunk there was kind of that 'welp, that's all we have to do' kind of feel and it was all bad from there.

I just knew there was something odd about NWB actually showing emotion.

Did anyone else think, in the second half when game was beginning to get away and TCU was driving at will, to risk getting some blocking fouls in the lane or doing occasional hard-foul on a layup? ISU was still at 1 team foul quite a while into the half, I'm not saying waste fouls, but we had some room to stall momentum, maybe it could make TCU a little more timid on drives.

Not the only strategy to attempt, but one that appeared to make sense at that point.

So divas?
Maybe just 3 of them.. just get that impression when they would rather get to the free throw line instead of gaining real momentum after lobbing it for the easy dunk. And the crowd going wild. Noticed it to many times to count with Shayok Wigginton and THT.

I blame John Walters. Dixon called a timeout after that and John says "Jamie Dixon can feel this one getting out of hand early."
