You can also make the argument that we had it last weekend against Texas as well.

At some point we have to give credit to TCU. We should not have given up 90+ to them at home, but they looked really, really good today. I think they would have beaten a lot of teams, even on the road, with the way they played today.

They were good because of us....not in spite of us.

All debatable. I think of guys like: Thigpen, Willoughby, Eim, Tinsley, Stinson, Kane, Houge, Pratt, Bankhead. S. Johnson, etc

These guys found ways to win games and had a toughness that wouldn't let ISU lose[/QUOTE]

Remember when Hogue and Kane got lit up at West Virginia?

And when Hogue went scoreless vs. UAB when ISU just needed a bucket?

They all lost games.

Some of them really bad games.

At Hilton too.

Seems TCU shot really well today. TCU like Texas last week was in desperation mode, sitting as a 9 seed in the tourney.

Bottom line both coaches had a opportunity to improve their chances at a league title with a win at home and did not do it.
There is no difference. They both lost. Exact same scenario and both failed.

Twenty-one of TCU's 33 made baskets were layups or dunks. Twenty-four of 33 were in the paint.

Prohm's good with many things and his ability to influence players beyond the court should never be discounted regardless of the wins.

That said, his post-games (wins and losses) tend to have mention of how he should have done something earlier...which means it was on his mind. If the point deficit is bleeding like today, you have to throw a wrench into it all quickly and see if it at least throws the other team off for a spell.
I think Prohm is pretty awful as a bench coach. How do you not find a way to have Jacobsen in the game for as long as he can play today. When you can’t hit threes you gotta get two bigs in the game and set THT on the pine

Lol, so you see no difference in losing to a 3 seed who made 14 3's that day and losing to a team that had just lost its last 3 road games by 10, 19, and 25? Its not even close to being an apples to apples comparison. Besides, thats the only loss that entire season, Prohm has shown time and time again he will lose multiple games in Hilton every season.

There is not difference, you can try to make all the excuses to try and justify why Fred did not come up with the win and you can try to come up with all kinds of reasons why to blame Prohm for the loss.

Does not change the fact they both lost and sports is about end results isn't it?
The other thing Fred's team did that year was lose at Texas Tech who had 3 conference wins on the season and lose at KSU who had 8 for the year. I suppose Prohm can lose at WVU so he can further try to mirror ISU's 12-6 finish in 2014

Maybe if Fred's teams played defense Baylor would not have shot out of their minds, I will say the defense today did remind of the defense on some of those Fred teams, brutal. Prohm either did not make adjustments or players did not execute, or both either way defense was just bad today.

Doesn't this require ISU to basically change their entire offense?

And what are they going to do that's going to affect TCU hitting 3s and TCU pressuring ISU's perimeter?

So Fred had issues with coaching defense and Prohm has issues with in game adjustments. Both of which has been proven through out their tenures as Iowa State coaches. Seems fair to me.

Did you miss the part where 21 of TCU's 33 baskets were layups or dunks? Did this have anything to do with #12 on defense?

All that big xii title talk was fun while it lasted.

out-coached, out-played, out-hustled, out-everythinged

Can we please stop fouling guys while they are dunking? Were all of Lindell's 5 fouls (outside the last phantom foul) on and-1s?

I may be imagining this but it seems like Texas kind of exposed them when they came out in the 2nd half playing a 2-3. Since then everyone they've played started and played the same defense for most of the games. They're not really running the weak side ball screens like they were in the first half of the game at Kansas, which is about as good as they looked all year.

If you look at the box, ISU did better at the free throw line and may have had the same number of 3's
And a number of those were and 1 kind of layups and dunks.

Defense was abysmal

Seems like a reasonable observation to me.

I don’t think they should do it, but I don’t think it would be that hard to change. Essentially, you replace Haliburton with a big. Haliburton is such a nice glue guy that it’s hard to take him off the court, but I think you could replace him with Jacobsen and still have a similar offense. You could not play with the two bigs and Haliburton on offense without trouble imo.

disappointing but expected. When I saw TCU haven't won on the road yet in the Big 12, I expected a loss.

That eminds me of another disappointing loss ISU had a few years ago. I'll let guys fill in the blanks from there.

Yeah and not saying it was actually like that...just sort of looked liked it.

Maybe ISU got ahead of itself and couldn't recover.
