Absolutely not. However your post read like you had never seen it in your lifetime which begged the question of did you miss the Eustachy years.

I definitely remember those years, but maybe not as well as some of you. I was in middle school at the time. The media access we have now was not the same as the media access we had then, and I never saw Fizer or Tinsely play live in-person. I remember televising of games being spottier, but I do remember watching the end of the season, KC, and the NCAAs.

I meant it as more of a wistful statement, mostly because...

(1.) I was actually on campus during the McDermott years. I saw us lose a lot of games in Hilton from the pep band. I have been trying to forget those years.

The therapy helps. Sometimes.

(2.) Yes, we did it in the Larry era, but it has been so long. Time to do it again.

The program will not have truly ascended again until it holds serve at home.

What does TOE have to do with anything?

Because at the time that looked like a bad loss to many on this board. Some assumed we would not have a good year since we couldn't even beat them. Now they're just 2 games out from first in their conference and we have shown some promise as well.

March and (hopefully) April will define this Cyclone team. Let's go!

It was a bad loss. Not because Iowa beat Iowa State - because Iowa dominated Iowa State.

One early December game even if it's a bad loss never has nor will it define a season especially vs. an instate school and I wish people would pump the brakes on things like April talk. I think they can win a game or two in the tourney which is fantastic.

I just wanted to get an idea of how fans viewed our team's performance thus far, inasmuch as many of us didn't have lofty expectations last fall. (At least I didn't - I was just hoping for some positive trends.)

And after viewing the latest totals on the poll, apparently I wasn't alone.

It's just that the game threads seem to be filled with some real negative posts.....and I, for one, am pretty excited about how well the freshman have meshed with the other newbies - and the vets - and have us right in the thick of the title chase. (Sorry, I'm starting to sound like a journalism major, which I was.)

This is a bizarre post and poll. Im not really sure anybody is thinking about the Iowa game anymore, an early December game isnt going to have much of a total impact on the season. Right now Im more worried about getting back into the Big 12 race.

It depends on how the last 7 games go before you can really judge them. I'll wait and see how the Big 12 plays out before judging their season. Right now I would say the are underperforming slightly after the TCU loss.

No reason a team with the is much talent should be sitting in 5th place on Valentine's day but there is plenty of season left.

Personally, I'd be willing to lose to Iowa for the next 5 years for a conference championship.
Iowa looked bad then, but has played some decent ball. Give me back the TCU or KState loss

I was lucky enough that I started pep band in 1999. Those were some good years.

Greg McDermott took the best years of my life.

I show up just as Morgan leaves... bad but at least fun... and leave just as Hoiberg comes.

Kids. These. Days.
