Will Prohm ever win a championship?

I mean, that's so true. It seems like a basket case of a person would have done great arriving in January, not knowing any of our players and would have fit seamlessly in to an already good (but let's be honest, they should have been a lot better because Prohm is a terrible coach) team. For sure someone that had never even practiced at a D-1 level would have been great right away! Just another reason to fire the pathetic excuse for a coach we have.

So you agree, cool lol

Can't speak for anyone else, but I think it's tough to be overly critical of a coach who takes his team to the NCAA tournament, unless you are a KU, Duke, Kentucky, etc.
It's all expectation. If that is your expectation, then you're good. For many, they expect to compete for big 12 titles, good seeds and sweet 16's.

All the talent on this team minus Shayok are underclassman and even he is inconsistent. Lard can't stay on the court but is improving. To me some of the starters are good role players but not 30+ minute guys. The "most talent in the Big 12" thing is way overblown. THT has blossomed but TH has hit a slump. This has still been a fun season and good things can still happen. The score today was amazing considering the 3 pt shooting difference. This team is either on fire or ice cold from 3. They were very effective from the paint today which is a good thing going forward.

Also not pleased at all with the article on here claiming the home loss to Baylor was inexcusable. Really inexcusable??? Please don't feed the idiots on here Jerod.

I've just come to the right side, right? Fire him.

You've convinced me. **** him and then fire him.

Burn down Hilton and let basketball go the way of Cyclone baseball.

He puts out weak teams that play soft and he's pissed all over Hilton Magic.

jsb for head coach of the new ISU club basketball squad

No, I don't think you understand. Coach K will be coming here.

Why settle for for that?
Be careful what you wish for. You wanna fire Prohm and hire another GMAC? When we start missing the tourney or get beat in the first round every year then maybe we can have a discussion about replacing him. I wish we weren't struggling but things could be way worse. Who in their right mind would wanna coach here if you get run outta town for winning 20+ games a year?

Oh FFS...

Wow, when teams lose games, there are reasons they lose? No way! The home losses were unexpected and disappointing, no one is arguing otherwise. The road wins at Texas Tech and K-State were unexpected and exhilarating. Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't make a peep after those victories.

TCU and Baylor will both likely make the tournament; shouldn't have lost to them at home, but they are not bad teams.

Perspective...

There are reasons teams lose. But what I see is an ISU team that goes up against opponents that consistently have a better game plan coming in and execute that gameplan better. We're talking about getting absolutely run out of the gym against TCU at home and looked better in every aspect, A Baylor team that went to the paint all game and looked superior almost all game, a subpar Oklahoma team that drove the ball down our throat and outplayed us all except the last 5 minutes where shayok played out of his mind.
I just see teams that come in with plans and execute those plans while we sit on the outside and depend on hot shooting. We are too talented of a team to look completely befuddled at times and I don't think this staff is putting the players in a good enough position too maximize their talent.

If that makes me a drama queen then so be it. I am a huge supporter of Iowa state and was a season ticket holder until this year when i moved too far away. I dont enjoy complaining about prohm, but i'm going to call it like i see it and I do think many games we come in with an inferior game plan or he continues to play players that cannot execute that game plan.

It seems like we all think he is another GMAC. I read multiple times he is the worst coach in the conference.

Hold on... Which seasons were we ever worse than a 7/8 seed with the 2nd best roster in the Big 12?

Why do we think we have the 2nd best roster in the Big 12?

Maybe these guys overachieved to win what they did?

Either way, it has become clear that Prohm is in over his head. Fire him. It's far past time.

A lot of talk about lack of in-game adjustments and maybe so.
It looked like Babb and Shayok played tired and no doubt had off games. I know Steve has his "7 starters", but I'd like to see him at least try Lewis and Talley when guys look off. They could not have done any worse today.
