So does this post double for the Women's Big 12 basketball tournament? Beat us twice in the regular season, now get a third shot at them.

I'd play Conditt as much as he can take. Better rebounder than Lard, who is always out of position due to trying to block shots. Although, I suspect Lard has played his last minutes for ISU already...

Agree with having everyone crash the boards like crazy, we dont' fast break off missed shots anyway - only off turnovers.

I'd also give Wigg about 38 minutes, and cut down on THT and NWB. Lately Wigg >>> THT. Nick looks like he is playing on my knees at this point in the season.

I DO think this is a game ISU can win, if they want to.

Conditt at the 5, Jacobson at the 4 is my preferred solution if we're getting killed on the boards.

I see the prevailing wisdom in this thread is try to beat Baylor at their game. Do you guys have any good inbounds plays you’d like to share?

No inbounds plays to share, but if Prohm would like for me to come in and demonstrate a proper Sikma move to his team then I can clear some time. It's all about the fundamentals, boys.

I like that Zoran Talley is getting more court time and think his defense may have improved as he’s played more. Also, Coach Prohm can bring him in to give THT breaks. I think this improves both THT’s late game defense (fresher with some breaks) and his shot selection.

When this team moves the ball around quickly, they are very effective offensively.

I agree with this. I like the size and length that Talley brings on the defensive end. Obviously Culver had a unbelievable game Saturday, but I felt like Talley did a pretty good job on him.

This could be pretty significant news considering where we are in the bracket.

It looks like KSU is tanking KC to get healthy for the NCAA tournament.

Up for debate if that is wise or not, but that is their choice as a program. They do have many of their best players banged up who could use a week of rest.

It would finally give their younger guys more of a shot under live fire, as well.

But if we can get by Baylor... and face Kansas State's JV... oh my, the path is there...

Two wins in KC and a title game appearance would go down really nicely about now.

This alternative has been discussed for some time down here, as the ring has tolled for this squad. Winning the bowl was their crown jewel. I hope Weber sits both Stokes and Wade, so they have a shot in the dance.

I am normally against resting guys who can go, even if not 100%, when you still have something on the line. You still have seeding to worry about now, at least.

Then again, if there was ever a special circumstances, this might be it. All your best guys have these little dings that might clear up with a little rest. So it makes sense.

If Mason is sitting for Baylor, it would seem they are tanking the Big XII Tourney as well. Granted, they've won plenty of games with guys sitting out this year (annoying). What is the trajectory of the conference tournament? I always enjoy watching them, but it seems in the P5 conferences, schools don't place quite as much emphasis on them over the last decade or so, choosing to rest certain players if injuries are an issue and their resume is fine. Keep players healthy for the big tournament so to speak. In 10 years, if this trend continues, will conference tournaments even exist at the P5 level?

Also, with regards to mid and small majors, something does need to be fixed in my opinion. Teams get hot and win 3 games in a row in March even if they were hot garbage all season long. That just doesn't sit right with me. I think the smaller conference should only allow the Top 6 teams in their conference to play in their conference tourneys, with the top 2 seeds getting first round byes. This would ensure the best teams get into the dance. No 13-19 teams. Feel bad for the South Dakota States, Drakes, and Loyola's of this season.

They'll continue as long as ESPN ponies up the bucks. That's their only purpose. I remember Knight going nutso when the B10 started their tournament asking rhetorically: What's the point? Bill Self seems to have taken the same approach lately getting run by the likes of TCU.

Don’t assume KSUs jv team will get past TCU. We may face 2 teams who we could not beat this year.

This is true.

A chance to fix having gone 0-4 against Baylor and TCU is welcome, though.

I would rather have TCU than a full-strength KSU.

I know seeding can be helped, theoretically. Iowa State maybe climbed up a seed in their couple championship runs in recent years. But if it continues to become a trend of coaches sitting their best players for the conf. tourneys, the selection committee will start to see through any potentially resume boosting W's
