I don't think Prohm leaves anytime soon (barring HUGE tourney run two years in a row and money we can't match).

But I think if he leaves......TJ is the next coach....if you follow JP on twitter, he's always going out of his way to visit/attend games, etc.

BUT, if you like drama (which based on a couple threads, we do)....can you imagine if Prohm did leave after the tourney? Outcomes:
1. Fred goes to Nebraska...we end up with something else....the rumors/speculations would be nuts (we didn't want Fred, Fred didn't want us, etc).
2. Fred goes to Nebraska...but then leaves there to come back to us (Ala Dana Altman leaving Arkansas after a day)....that would be the most emotional few days this place has handled!
3. Timing doesn't work out....and we WANTED Fred, but he agreed to a Neb job...and won't leave...and we go into a bad basketball funk.
4. We lose Fred and Prohm...TJ hired....
4a: He tanks, we all are sad and we are back to McDermott years
4b: He has huge success and people are mad we didn't take him over Prohm the first go around
5. Randy Peterson somehow makes it weird

Basically, no matter what happens or doesn't, we will continue to lose our collective minds around here.....oh, and Matt Campbell rumors will also just fill in any other voids, lol.

Oh snap! 6 mill for an underachieving coach??? That's a lot of money for mediocrity

Do I need the pirate?

Why would you need a pirate?

Last Wednesday, we had the most talent in the league and got 5th, couldn’t run an out of bounds play to save our lives, and made no adjustments.

No matter what #5 is always going to happen.

Now that you have put this out into the world, it’s already in motion.

I'll jump in here every so often to reassure everyone the Prohm isn't going anywhere.

Not close to ready for the NBA. Loads of potential. But at 18 years of age he needs to develop more. And not sure what position he would play in the NBA.
There are a lot of NBA players that aren’t ready at 18-19 years old, but there are plenty of opportunities to develop once he gets there. If he’s projected in the first round, he should probably go.

Why would he need his career clock reset? I am curious as to why you would mention that, and then add the qualifier.

And yes TJ would drive 100 to get to Ames to sign the contract
Look at the Wikipedia link someone posted ... most of his stops have been in the 3 to 4 year range. Being able to go to Alabama gives him for certain a 3 to 4 year window before he needs to worry about possibly getting fired. If he goes 10-18 next year at ISU - his seat gets warm. If he goes 10-18 next year at Alabama he gets a hall pass for that!

I guess everyone just needs something to worry about. But it’s all pointless. CMC and CSP will both be here for jay years. We have our cia he’s and we have stability. Time to relax and enjoy.

By this do you mean the SEC is an easier conference to win in? Because over the last 5 years or so it has not been remotely close which is the better basketball conference.
No ... the SEC is a deeper conference, has blue blood UK and near blue blood Florida. Tennessee, Florida, LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss compare very favorably to the B12's ISU, Texas, Oklahoma, K-State, WVU.

And yes it is because of football not basketball but the SEC has deeper pockets, more money, better infrastructure, better stability, better TV agreements. The conference as a whole is stronger.
