He was the 4/5 option for 2 years.... Entering into his 3rd year, after improving the first 2, being the number 1-3 option....... And I feel like he runs great routes. separation? I think that falls on Stanley to a degree because he was usually the 4/5 option last year and put up decent numbers for that spot. After all, Milton was the 4 option and put up good numbers in his 2nd year, but his first year he was not good enough to do anything and red shirted, probably because he could not run good routes from the limited action I saw of him..... I can play that game too.

He didn't play his freshman year because we had veteran talent there and he was just a freshman. 4 guys in front of him had 450 or more yards...

I expect Martin to be our most productive wide receiver in many years, by the time he's done. He'll also do a lot to take pressure off of our green tight ends and the running game in general. His speed and hands are quite good, and his knowledge after working with other 4-5 star WRs at Michigan will only help him at Iowa. Talk about a quality internship!

The guys we have coming into those spots are a 6'6" redshirt freshman who has a very high ceiling, and a 6'4" redshirt freshman (offers from Bama, LSU, OU, MSU) who Campbell has said is the most talented WR he's coached. We also have a 6'3" grad transfer from Arkansas who had more receiving yards than any receiver on Iowa last year and only caught the ball 30 times. Add in proven talent with Deshaunte Jones and Tarique Milton and that's a pretty dang good WR core for Purdy to work with.

What I still do not understand his how ISU has the only guys with high ceilings and good quality transfers. Why is it always the case in ISU fan speak? You have the equivelant of a Keenan Davis recruit or even a Trey Stross type of recruit that Iowa once had before. Iowa now has a guy with OSU, Michigan, ND PSU offers at the WR position..... so what is the difference there?

I think he'll produce the way Easley did. He was pretty good in his time @ Iowa. Martin will be good to have for Iowa but let's not act like he's a sure thing to put up huge numbers. He had little to no production at Michigan and it's not like Michigan's passing game and their wide receivers were unbelievable the past two years he was there.

His quarterback was garbage and he still averaged 16.6 ypc and 500 yards last year. He's going to have a 10x better QB this year and we run a more suitable offense.
