I never said he would be better than that. I said we have guys that could be that caliber now on the roster.
Wait you think the guys you currently have are going to be better than McNutt and DJK? The McNutt who had 1300 yds and 12 TD's his senior year and the DJK who had 745 and 10 TD's his senior year? Man you are setting the bar high.

His quarterback was garbage and he still averaged 16.6 ypc and 500 yards last year. He's going to have a 10x better QB this year and we run a more suitable offense.
in 3 years of PT and being a number 1 wr he had 37 catches, 601 yards and 5 tds..... excuse me for not getting to excited about the guy. He might be good, but that is not at the Butler, Lazard level

No, I said they are that caliber of WR, they might not get to that type of production, but they are not what we have had the last few years at the WR position, and that is because of the uptick in recruiting in that area.

Don't you understand? Martin will be good because he was a highly recruited High Schooler and the other guys will be good even though nobody wanted them out of High School

Auburn was pretty pissed he chose us over them this recruiting cycle while Martin couldn't get a call back from Notre Dame. Lol just stop

But Oliver Martin who has 2 years of production, 11 catches, 125 yards, and 1 TD is the next Edelman, gotcha.

This just isn't true. Your WR recruiting has sucked for quite some time now and isn't getting better. You guys are going to land a Northern Illinois decommit with no P5 offers any day now

Also he was the main guy last year, the other two years they had other guys as the #1 WR. And looking at the overall career instead of the most recent is stupid. That's like saying a guy in basketball who averaged 5 ppg as a freshman but 25 ppg his sophomore year is only going to be okay his junior year because he is only averaging 15 ppg in his career.

that is 1 year
in Pettway first 2 years of PT, 7 catches for 102 yards and 1 TD..............
I think the point we're trying to make here is that if Oliver Martin would've had a good year at Michigan putting up okay to good numbers, then transferred, he'd be okay. Whether or not he would have done that next year or the year after is unknown. Pettway did not have good years his first two years, but had a pretty good year last year and had great ypc numbers.

It is better than it used to be, still not at the level I want, but better.

2017 - Smith stopped recruiting after Iowa, was contacted by schools around him to visit and others offered but were never reported. Google and look that up if you want. ISM had 4-5 other P5 offers Cooper - project, Marchese, not on roster? The ladder 2 were they typical WR recruits under Davis regime. We tended to miss on who we needed (Martin) but now we have him and we know who offered

2018 - Tracy offers from BC, Louisville, NW, Cincy, Illinois. Calvin Lockett offers form Kentucky, BC, Indiana, Illinois, Oregon State, Purdue, Syracuse, UCF, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech. Nico Ragaini had offers from Ivy league and BC, was going to play la crosse until Iowa convinced him to try WR and reports are promising there

2019 - low year of recruiting, took Desmond Hutson, who stopped his recruitment early on after the Iowa offer.

All of these guys are light years infront of what we had before 2017.

Pettway had 4 years of training, Martin had 2, and all I am saying is why can he not improve after 2 years when it took year 4 for Pettway to do anything productive? He was only productive as the number 1 is the argument being made. What if Martin the the 1? then what? can he not do the same thing as Pettway? That is the logic being displayed right now.

2016 - Devonte Young had offers from Pitt and Rutgers. That was your only WR recruit

2015 - Jerminic Smith chose Iowa over Texas Tech. Emmanuel Ogwo chose Iowa over Rutgers and UNLV. Adrian Falconer chose Iowa over Cincinnati and Memphis

2014 - Jay Scheel chose Iowa over Wisconsin, Nebraska, Minnesota and Iowa State. He was your only WR recruit.

Long story short you're wrong

Young, did not pan out

Smith transferred under a different coach Ogwo was a CB recruit as much as a WR and did not pan out and transferred

Scheel got hurt did not pan out because of injury.

Recruiting has had hits since then and better coaching is now in play.

Long story short you are reaching
