It helps me to illustrate some of the possibilities. To me adding gold just makes sense and doesn't really change things too much. What it does change is for the better IMO.

I do hope we can add gold helmet and pant. We could do without the gold jersey I agree but that would be pretty sweet too at times (on an infrequent basis).

On the off chance that we do not add any new gold this year it wouldn't be the end of the world. I think all of us agree we love the way our program is headed under CMC and would rather see that than any particular uniform variation.

Let's say we were not to get any new gold this year, using more gold accessories is always an option.

Socks also...adding gold socks is a thought, possibility. But really only 2 combos lend themselves well to gold socks IMO from the juggling I've done. W-c-w and c-c-c look quite good w/ gold socks. The rest not so much. Alternate using red/gold socks with these two.

I know mixing and matching is all the rage nowadays, but I wish we'd just do those two roughly half or more of the time -- the purist in me does not like the two different helmets in a primary look, but those two are just a cut above all the other looks we (may) have.
I appreciate and value your opinion! I don't agree with it as I really dig many of the other combo options, and still love the addition of black. I also think the players do too and that counts a lot.

To be honest, if all (or majority of time) we had for Home was g-c-g the natives would soon again be restless, calling for something more that red/yellow, cardinal/gold, 'ketchup/mustard'. It kind of is what it is in terms of our colors and history.

I tend to really like this current design though, simple and I think will be 'classic' over the years. It will probably change in due time anyway. Current design looks sharp w/ our colors. If our colors change (cardinal seems fine to me the way it is; wouldn't mind it if shade of gold was darkened a bit) I will try to be happy w/ that also.

Darn teens and their "filters"!

I really like that, I realize it's a bit towards FSU or 49ers (raiders vs niners in this photo!), and that 'so-and-so at the alumni center has the original color swatches from 18xx and they were (disappointingly) yellow', etc, but if Coach Campbell can trick us all into accepting black as an official-unofficial color I think he could easily force everyone to accept a gradual goldening like that.
You may be on to something here. I think the colors are about the same this year. On the other hand we haven't seen too much or everything yet!

If the gold does darken or golden a bit more than it is now, it will likely be due to CMC and not J Pollard. I think Pollard might have a little leeway but not sure how much.

Besides, in many of these mockups I have used a darker shade of gold. Does anyone really notice? Likely , no. [For example in our current set and my recent posts, I used a darker shade of gold on the new "Cardinal jersey sleeve and the gold helmet". With everything else the gold is what I think it currently is or close to it.]

And if our gold was to darken some, I don't think most of us would be "forced" to accept it (as in your wording above). From what I can tell most (not all of course) would accept it w/ open arms. As long as not too drastic. I for example would not be sure if I would like going back to Stapleton gold. Would I like the Bruce 1976 era gold? I have to admit yes I would like that better.
