And yes, I said Lewis and Griffin -- both or either could be a late bloomer.
Griffin is a sophomore that wasn't fully healthy last year. If he is a contributor this year I certainly wouldn't consider him a late bloomer. That would be like considering Naz Mitrou-Long a late bloomer.

Naz was...

not a particularly valued recruit
FR = bench scrub
SO = bench gunner/part-time starter
JR = above-average Big 12 starter
SR = second-team all-conference

...and now he is playing for some big $$$. Not compared to NBA stars, no, but he is making pretty good money for the pantheon of basketball players worldwide.

That is one heck of a development story.

I am not sure if "late bloomer" is the right term for Griffin (as opposed to Lewis, where it probably would be), but I hear you his situation is more just the bad luck of the injury and being stuck behind a lot of talent before hopefully coming into his own.

Great post. It's impressive what he has accomplished. It makes me want to watch those bombs he made against Oklahoma State all over again.

He scored 25 as a freshman -- total.

He ended up beating that thrice and tying it once as an upperclassman... in single games.

I was gonna reply with “this is prob same person that tweeted O Martin waiver approved last week” to troll Iowa fans”. But then I realized you’ve been a member 10 years so...

Hope this isn’t trolling
