Just my two cents, but seems to me the biggest downside for ESPN is that they would’ve showcasing a Fox game. Not saying that’s a dealbreaker, but given money seems to drive everything, it will be interesting to see what shakes out. I will enjoy the game regardless and it’s only a matter of time before Gameday comes to Ames. If not this year, it’s not far down the road IMO

If we don't get it for the Iowa game, I feel like if both ISU and Texas do their parts.... we'll get it for the Texas game. That would be even better!!

The only cool thing about getting it for the ISU-Iowa game would be to show off to the rest of the country just how great this rivalry game is. There would be so many people there it would be insane.

On GameDay just a few minutes ago, Desmond Howard predicted Kansas would be in a bowl this year. Yikes Desmond.
ESPN has a stake in Kansas this year since they have that Les Miles show on ESPN+. They need to do something to give KU a pulse this season to attract viewers.

Les Miles was an assistant at Michigan when Desmond was there. They're probably buddies.

I know a lot of you mention ESPN may not want to have Gameday where the game is on FS1 but let’s not forget that should no longer matter as both ESPN and FOX are both somehow connected now with that Disney merger!

Fox (the network) and FS1 weren't part of the merger. ESPN and Fox are still very much competitors for College Football. But I think the fact that both Herbstreit and The Bear have talked about a potential ISU-Iowa College gameday on the air, it is still very much in play.

Fox Corps still owns Fox Sports. It's the regional sports network that fox will no longer control.

I think Syracuse vs Clemson will have gameday. Syracuse will probably be top 20 and Clemson will be #1
Agreed. I pretty much gave up on the ISU-Iowa Gameday once Syracuse cracked the top 25 but now I think there's a chance for reasons I mentioned above. In addition, I know Randy P gets a lot of flack here but he does have connections with ESPN and has heard ISU-Iowa is very much still in play.

FOX needs to start it's own version.
