Is this thing worth missing tailgating? I went to gameday in Hilton and it was cool but it’s nothing special. My friends tailgate is in S1 so I’ll probably just watch from there.
I went to that too. I think it is really cool to see but you don’t have to be one of the main people. We got to that one near when they let us in and were up in the balcony. I don’t think we missed anything we would have gotten had we been there earlier. I’m planning on heading over around 7:30 and just finding a spot you can see.

For those going to get into Gameday area wondering what time people should thinking about getting there? I thinking of getting there as early as 4 or 5 am.

I agree the basketball one wasn't anything great but the football gameday show is a totally different ballgame.

Common sense for y'all:

Tailgate food shopping...if you can help it, don't go ANY later than Thursday night. At least, get the majority of your stuff Thursday night, and then perhaps get your main course from the meat counter Friday night. AVOID THE GROCERY STORE ON SATURDAY MORNING AT ALL COSTS. It would be crazy enough if it was a normal Cy-Hawk week in Ames. Game Day, I feel, is just going to make it worse.
