Moral of the story: if you don't have a perfect past, doesn't matter how philanthropic you are today.

No one is condoning what was said in the past, but the way people are these days its as if you aren't even allowed to learn from mistakes.

Moral of the story - don’t be philanthropic. If you try to do good in the world people will tear you down.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but why does it feel like much of what is going on is connected?

Low life hok fan tips off the Register to extend the smear campaign that started with the band incident.

Social media is now a weapon wielded by triggered little snowflakes.
I don’t know what the deal is but today and frankly the last week has been an absolute **** show embarrassment for the media. They’ve been used as tools by people with agendas.

The quote makes it seem like they might be tapping out at the current # and not honoring future donations. It's not clear if they'll continue to match.

Yep. The story ran it's course, they didn't feel like donating more and found their way out. **** them.

Story Co.
This is why I never want to be in the public eye for any reason. No matter how positive the reason people know about you is, your dirt will be dug up.

WTF. Who the hell thought to dig up dirt on him like this after all the good he has done? He made a mistake as a 16 year old kid. Pretty sure most people here said or did something in their past they wish they could go back and not do again. People need to get thicker skin, we're become too PC as a society

It's the current state of the American media. The national media has rubbed off on local media. The media in this country is toxic, regardless of the subject matter. Even the entertainment and sports media is trash.

Imagine spending hours digging through Twitter to tear down someone donating millions of dollars to sick kids. Nice job for a **** newspaper that uses a Paywall to read **** content.

Man, good thing no one gives a **** about me. Some stuff posted to message boards years ago would not be seen in a good light today. Shame on me back then, but whatever. Live and learn.

Maybe the rag is feeling the heat. I didn't see this story searching their page. I don't give them any money anyway, so I can't boycott.

This crap happens all the time when an athlete or someone else becomes famous. People go straight to digging up dirt and they lose endorsements. Busch light couldn’t win in this thing. If they stuck with him the media will label them as supporting
those comments and bash them all over social media. They took the PC road just like every other company does.

New brewer to follow? August Schell - The August Schell Brewing Company is a brewing company in New Ulm, Minnesota that was founded by German immigrant August Schell in 1860. It is the second oldest family-owned brewery in America (after D. G. Yuengling & Son)[3] and became the oldest and largest brewery in Minnesota when the company bought the Grain Belt rights in 2002. In September 2010, the brewery celebrated its 150th Anniversary with a two-day festival. Every year, Schell's also celebrates traditional German holidays with Bock Fest and Oktoberfest.[4]

This is what Twitter has wrought. It destroys even the best actions. I can understand if they didn't really want to but woke twitter was bound to throw a fit at some point.
