I can't find one good or just reason why you would dig into a guy's past when he was just a kid saying something dumb. He isn't trying to run for office, he's not trying to get rich quick. He turned a funny sign into a great story that Cyclones and Hawkeyes can and have gotten behind. The only reason they did that was to insert themselves into the publicity and it's backfired mightily.

No one is condoning the tweets and people here seem to understand that humans do make mistakes yet we should be allowed to grow and learn from them.

Not sure why the Register felt like this needed to be brought up, before the deadline to donate to Carson. Ruined what was a great story (still is honestly) that brought a lot of good publicity to our state.

I can't fault Anheuser-Busch in any of this. They did the prudent move that every other corporate PR in America would have done.

Agreed. I don't like that companies like Anheuser-Busch do things like this as I wish they would just also accept he was a kid saying a dumb thing a long time ago...but I get it. They don't want to mess with it and they've already donated and been pretty great about the whole thing.

I think Busch will take a much larger PR hit from cutting ties with him than they would have if they had ignored it. Stupid PR move.

Hopefully it wasn't Tommy birch doing the digging.

This is an example of how when someone makes a mistake or has an unfortunate incident, we see it for what it is and move on. Seems like what should happen with Carson King too.

It is ironic. I honestly haven't had Busch LIght since probably college....more than a couple decades ago. I was thinking about trying it again based a lot on this whole campaign.

Not anymore.

This why people should drink local beer. We push comes to shove, corporations like AB/Inbev only care about their stock price.
