From a Buckeye Recruiting article:

"The 5-foot-10, 210-pound three-star back out of Winton Woods High School in Cincinnati has been committed to the Cyclones since July 4, but it will be seen if he can be swayed to stay home.

Along with Georgia Tech commit Jahmyr Gibbs, Williams could end up being a lower-rated commit who flips and serves as a backup option to add depth. That’s if the Buckeyes are unable to land a four-star prospect like Kevontre Bradford, Michael Drennen II or E.J. Smith."

Not necessarily dissing him cause, as you point out, just a high school kid. Just pointing out he can't be 1000% if he is still talking and visiting other schools. Kinda like saying "Yes, Suzy, I am probably still taking you to prom but Karen looks to be available now. I'll let you know soon!".;)

Him getting an offer from them doesn’t mean he visited them. And don’t act like you wouldn’t take the phone call from a blue blood even if you have no intentions of accepting their offer.

Come on kid, don't you want to be an OSU backup option!? /S

This is not what you said.
This is what you said:

If you are committed and than post how blessed you are to get an offer from another school you just aren't really committed anymore.

You moved the target.

At this point he is also a backup option to add depth for us also. He isn't guaranteed any more playing time at ISU than he is at OSU. It'll just come down to if he is attracted to the brighter lights of the blue blood. I hope we can hang on to him.

Agree. Just as there's no guarantee he ever gets much playing time at tOSU, there's also no guarantee he gets much playing time at ISU either anymore.

It's really nice to finally be in that kind of a position.

I mean, let's be honest with ourselves. Every program should have a RB in every class (and I do like this kid!), but don't pretend he'll arrive in Ames and not begin his first year or two as depth on the roster, just as he'd be at OSU.

We'll still have 4 RBs ahead of him next year, 3 of which are all seeing significant playing time thus far.

Hopefully culture will win out and hold his commitment to Campbell & Co.

Addendum: It's a bit of a refreshing yet odd feeling not being fearful of each potential recruitment flip away from ISU.

Obviously we all want Williams to be a Cyclone. But also obviously, an offer from Ohio State is a big deal. We just have to trust he wants Scheelhaase and Campbell as coaches and isn't swayed by their coaches. Either place he will have great facilities, win a lot of games and get a good free education.
