People think its hard to win at ISU, the challenge of Rutgers is even worse. The facilities are below average, the schedule is a *****. Every year you get Ohio State, Penn. State, Michigan and Michigan state. Better recruiting territory but no one wants to play there. And they are broke, still fighting losing money all those years in the Big East.

Rutgers is the worse P5 job in college football, and really its not even close. At least Kansas has money.

Leaving the Big East and walking into the strong side of the Big 10 has killed them. They didn't do so bad their first year and went 8-5 in 2014. After that the wheels fell off. Wasn't that many years ago in the Big East that they throttled us in that 2011 bowl game.

But even that year, they lost to Penn State, MSU and Ohio State, they beat a 5-7 Michigan team. We pissed that bowl game away, and it was basically a home game for Rutgers in Yankee Stadium.
Worst job in the power 5 without a doubt.

With a few exceptions we seem to have a tradition of playing well below our capabilities in bowl games (4-10). Unless it's a decent bowl I don't usually care that much, they are just exhibitions and any team with a mediocre 6-6 gets invited. I did care last year. We lost but we didn't play crappy.

I still think it would be easier to get a player to go there than Pullman, Washington. Isn't Rutgers in Greater NYC?

Not a ton of good football players in NYC, basketball yes, but not football. Plus you have Penn State stealing a lot of the better NJ players.

The three of them lost games by a combined score of 7-159 this past weekend. The funniest was nebraska's crushing by the osu.

Yeah, this is why I always laugh when there are 7-8 Big 10 teams in the top 25. There are 4 teams in that conference that wouldn't be competitive in the MAC. If you get to play 3 of them and 3 dog non-conference games you are in a Bowl while being no better than Kansas.

NJ is typically in the top 15 states in terms of number of D1 players and Pennsylvania is usually top 10. (As others have said, NY is surprisingly low.) But recruiting base and location is not the problem with Rutgers. The cycle of losing and athletic department financial issues are the problems.

This is just the stupidest take.
Stupidest take, really? Maryland rose to the occasion beat UT twice in a row in 2017 and 2018.

You have to back up crap talk and unfortunately.... against the big 12, Maryland did well the past couple years. I am not saying Maryland is better than Texas, I am saying you can't smack talk when you lose...otherwise you are just a Nebraska fan...

I think I'd like your wife, and I'm pretty sure I've never met her.
