Couple would be eligible immediately. I probably would not be too interested if not immediately eligible. I like who we have coming up, but would also like some veteran competition for the young guys.

Bryce Matthews is probably the best of the current OL transfer group. Played every game on an OL that wasn’t terrible till he took an injury.

As a grad transfer? They have less than a year on campus, so measurables don’t mean as much as his history of not playing. We’re looking for effectively finished products, or at least somewhat proven.

OL in particular often do not develop to their rankings. Not that getting a guy like that out of HS isn't going to work out better than a walkon most of the time, but if I guy is somewhere that long, and not getting starts, he is probably not going to come in and start at ISU. I think the highest rated guy at ISU has barely played, and that is on a team with a not very good OL.

I’m actually quite content with the five guys on line to start at the moment. Taking a grad transfer now only delays their development.
