Agree - this team is at its best playing fast. It's a very good transition offense team and very bad half court offensive team.
My view on this team is largely the same thing with last years team. I don't think there's some major schematic problem or change that needs to take place. There is a lack of executing basic, simple things consistently. And it isn't one guy, and it isn't one or two specific things. Their double teams were horribly executed last night. Just sloppy as hell. Guys not waiting for screens before the take off, guys not using screens, guys dishing to our bigs diving on the PnR right into a help defender right there in position, turning and watching the shot on defense and not putting a body on anybody.
Some of this happened in previous years too, but I suppose this year it is magnified due to the lack of shooting. While some guys are just better at executing the details, it's been a broad enough problem that it is on Prohm and the staff to get this figured out. I get it, it's not an easy thing to do. You don't want guys playing scared or thinking too much, but you got to have them executing simple things with consistency.
There's not much else to say about this game. Hats off to Iowa. They are a better team. They are far more skilled, and execute at a much higher level. Garza is incredible and absolutely a guy you can build a winning team around provided you have a bunch of other solid guys that know their roles and play within them. That's exactly what Iowa has and does.
