It's funny that you expect them to be wise enough to know what is going on, yet you don't expect yourself or other fans to realize that that posting **** on twitter or facebook or CF doesn't solve anything. Seems a bit of a double standard.
The difference is that I'm a nobody in the grand scheme of things as far as Iowa State basketball goes. I can't fix anything. I can't change anything. All I can do is talk about stuff so I can get it out of my system and go on on with my life. I'm not sure who we have here that thinks they're changing the world by posting on Cyclone Fanatic(staff excluded, what they say matters more)

If you're a player or a coach, you have the power to go fix stuff. So instead of worrying about what random dipshits like me thing, go fix it. Work on your jumpshot, defense, or talk to the coaches about where things went wrong. Don't go scrolling through social media and get even more mad about losing because other people are mad. That makes no sense when you can go put the work in instead. If people are DMing or @ing them then that's completely different, and that needs to stop. But we shouldn't be getting upset at fans for being upset with a bad season and venting it on social media. That's literally all we can do as fans when we're mad, which is why we do it.

On the contrary, I do know that random people are not direct messaging him because his Twitter account is not open to direct messages from random members of the public.

If you don't know what you're talking about, stop talking. All you're doing is contributing to misinformation.

Search for “Steve Prohm” and filter by latest. Since the players follow Steve I’d imagine they see the f bombs about it.
And if that's what happening, that's bad. They should know this is out there and know what they're going to see and if they're actively looking for it then I don't feel bad for them

I think you can be mad and not post things in public.

Are fans not supposed to call out a terrible coach, who has a multi millionaire dollar contact and is losing at home to 28 point underdogs.

I dont know the idiots who @players, but the coaching staff should definitely be free game for strong criticism.

As long as people use social media to excess there will always be people griefing. This crap should be nothing new to anyone who grew up with online multi player gaming. Well that generation is now adult and the older generations aren't prepared for the severe indignity that people can achieve.

Claiming this a Twitter or Facebook issue is dumb. For all we know, players are just reading posts on here and tweeting their thoughts.

I guess we're just going to disagree on this then, because sometimes screaming into the void helps. I should know, I spend way too much time here.

you still seem pretty angry, so it doesn’t seem to have helped you.

I was actually satisfied with everyones energy on the court yesterday. Didn't question a single players heart.

Questioned a few decisions, but I think a lot of this fan base has been doing that for over a year now.

I can’t imagine getting mad at this team. It is what it is, which is not good. Why get so pissed off about it you need to make an ass of yourself?

Unfortunately, there are some people out there that have only this team and program as their one source of personal enjoyment and fulfillment. Their own personal lives aren't fulfilling so when they can't get it through athletics, they get pissed and lash out.

Of course. But what do you think it accomplishes?

I'm assuming by your defensiveness on this, you do it. Why do you think throwing a fit on CF on January 1st is a good thing?
You realize some people like to vent their frustrations right? I don't agree with tweeting and players or staff, but I have made a comment under articles before. I'm frustrated because I love Iowa State. I would love to see this team turn it around and prove me wrong, but I don't expect it. I will be critical of Prohm until the day he is no longer the coach and I think that's appropriate. I have the opinion that you need to hold the things you care about to high standards, but who knows, maybe I'm wrong having that opinion.

Hell, I asked Prohm to his face why he recruits so many lefties and he responded with because they are good players. I then told him they never pan out in the league. He said Cam Payne would. I'm sure people would call me a ****, but I say that kind of stuff because I care. If you sugarcoat the truth, you will never see the issues in order to address them.

Just STOP people! It's really that simple.

It's not just Twitter or FB or whatever. It's also what we post & say on here. You really think these players don't look at CF or other sites?

The ISU fan base is starting to resemble Iowa's. As long as things are going well, great. Once there are some setbacks though, then all the "in their mind only experts" come out and attack the coaches, players, teams, AD etc., that they claim to support as "true" fans. What a crock of ****!

I would be willing to bet that over 99% of ISU fans commenting have never been a P5 or P6 coach or played P5 or P6 sports at any time in their lives, yet they think they know what should be done with players, coaches, in-game strategy....whatever. Just take a moment and think how asinine that is. In your job, how would you react to criticism of how you were doing it from someone who had never been close to doing the same job?

We want these players to listen to the coaches, respect the coaches, and execute what the coaches want. Then players see comments from "fans" about how bad the coach is, he can't make adjustments, so and so should be playing more or less, yadda-yadda b.s.

Don't ever tweet at players, coaches, or recruits unless it is something positive or supportive. That should not be too hard for any true fan to do. If you can't do that, then don't tweet at all. Be supportive. It's that simple.

Once last thing I want to say...the criticism of CSP and how he is doing is un-warrented. Don't be stupid. Just look at the players this program has lost over the last couple of years, let alone those they have lost since CSP got here. Where are most of those players now? In the NBA, G league or overseas making decent coin. Unless the program is a blue blood (or maybe Gonzaga or Texas Tech) it can't just always reload. Plus recruiting is a crapshoot. Do you think Prohm saw Lindell or THT leaving after a year or two when he signed them? Imagine if they were still on this team how much different it would be. But that is just what every program has to deal with in today's world. Prohm has shown he can recruit. He just has to be able to hang on to them for 3 or 4 years to develop them & the program. Maybe he needs to figure out what kept Ejim, Monte, Niang, Naz and others here 4 years, and what made Clyburn, Nader, McKay, Burton, BDJ and others want to transfer here in the first place.

These players and coaches need our support, not our criticism. There is talent there....support ifT and stop bring such idiots. Put yourself in the place of the coaches and players. What do you need from fans? Think before you mouth off and put in "your two cents" (which is actually more than your opinion is worth). THINK BEFORE POST!

Why do you consider Texas Tech a blue blood?

We all know why those players transferred here and that's not an option anymore.
