What's the next step for ISU?

What Campbell has achieved since arriving at ISU is nothing short of miraculous. After watching ISU FB for 40+ years, it finally feels like we have something in place that can be maintained so long as we can keep staff continuity and they don't get complacent with their goals.

My question is, what is the next "hump" that ISU FB and this staff can leap over? Obvious near term answer is winning the "recognized" B12 championship in a couple weeks, but after that, I think it's imperative we get to the point where we can consistently beat P5 schools from the other conferences. To date, Campbell is 0-6 in attempts (WSU, ND, 4 losses to Iowa). Would be great to right that ship this year in our bowl game wherever we land.

Thoughts?

Well it would be nice but the B12 is the main goal and always should be.

Yeah, it's funny how Campbell has stood the McCarney era on its head.

Hasn't defeated Iowa (thought he's come dang close twice now), but he's one game away from a Big 12 title. Never thought I'd see that.

I don't know

How many steps are left? Not really that tough to figure out and I think CMC has been quite clear in the steps

Win a CCG
Make the playoffs
Win a National Title

Obviously to do those thing you have to beat everyone you play when you are ISU.

What else is there?

But I don't think you were really asking a question. I think you probably stayed up all night figuring out how you could
1) Pretend your an ISU fan
2) Work the 0-4 mark against Iowa in the conversation

And to both of those I say - who cares - they are irrelevant. Iowa is just another school we have to beat to get to the next level. No different than Okie State or Louisiana or any other team on the schedule.

Doesn't have to be Iowa. We just need to beat any P5 team outside the B12 IMO. Will have another chance in our bowl game I would think.
What if we play Coastal Carolina in a NY6 bowl? Will that matter if we win or not because your troll is beating a ranked Memphis team in a bowl game is meaningless

This isn't a troll post, but the real trolls will do their best to act like it is.

0-6 against P5 competition isn't a good look for us or the conference. Gotta get that figured out and if we can do it this year against a Florida or A&M or USC even better.

The key indicator of a hok troll

It is all about Iowa. The National Championship always runs through Iowa City.

It's a great achievement of course and I'd take it in a heartbeat. Any NY6 win is an accomplishment, but if the B12 wants to quiet its critics, its top teams need to win on the regular against other P5 competition (any P5 will do).

Well, besides a bowl game, Iowa is the only P5 team outside the b12 we play.
