I think we've done so well in terms of no team blows us out. I'd like to see us continue to "beat teams we are supposed to" with no concerns....love how we did that with KSU and WVU...but first game of year vs lower tier should always be a chance for us to see reserves.

But overall, need to next year be a top 3 big 12....but would love another title game. Get beyond "a good year" dialogue.

And yes, beat the Hawks

No it isn't.

We're very likely to never make the playoffs if we lose to Iowa. It's the next step. There's not many steps left to take. Win every game on the schedule is a step. Oh look, Iowa is on the schedule. Beating rivals is a step. Oh look, Iowa is our rival.

It's not the main goal but we have to get over the hump.

LOL. Texas beat the **** out of Georgia less than 2 years ago in SEC country and held their own last year against arguably the greatest team ever.

Did you hear more from the media about how good Texas looked in those games or how they want to **** can their coach now? I'll go with the second option.
My point is OU/TX need someone else to help hold the B12 flag. I want that team to be ISU.

Dumb and delusional, got it. Competing annually for the B12 crown is the goal.

The next goal is win the conference championship. After that it's sustain being competitive with the top of the conference.

If we do this they'll beat Iowa more times then not and the years they win the conference they'll be in the CFP picture.

Yes obviously that's past us now. We're competing for the Big 12 annually already.

Next steps are to win bowl games, beat Iowa, and make the playoffs.

Not really, 1 time in 108 years doesn't count as annually. And wtf is your hang up with Iowa? They aren't in the B12.

Let's get to isunowayisafan's real desire.

He and many hok fans want to make this a 'well, you aren't that good cuz you can't beat us yet' issue. They want this to be a " you have to win the most important game on your schedule which is Iowa" discussion.

But we are way beyond that.

Iowa will be the 10th or 11th or 12th most important game on our schedule, every year.

You have to win all the conference games to win the conference, 1st step. Let's take this year, would we have taken a loss to KU or KSU in exchange for being able to beat Iowa? Would we give up CCG to beat Iowa. Not in a million ******* years.

CMC has this right - become a player in the conference, then we can look at the other games, regardless of who they are or what conference they come from.

Our next step as a program is dumping Iowa and scheduling a more exciting power 5 opponent.
Meh...that's not happening and we sound like Squawk fans when we say that. Only option would be keeping Iowa and dumping UNI, UNLV, or whatever non P5 school is on the schedule and trying to get a home & home started with another P5.

Not exactly sure.
B12 > B10, but beating any B10W team would be welcome.
I agree with you that it’s embarrassing to lose to a big ten west team period, but sometimes you play a crap game against someone really hyped for you. You gotta know that hawk fans with they had real teams that they play in the conference, not MN, Purdue, Illinois. Heck we even have you Nebraska since they were starting to lose their prestige. True that one conferences junk is another conferences treasure.
