This is what I sent to the GM:

I'm writing to express my disappointment in a recent "tweet" by an employee of KCCI, Beau Bowman. I've been watching KCCI for most of the entirety of my 50 years of life and supporting the advertisers that support KCCI, but I'm not sure that will continue at this point. As a native Iowan and proud alumnus of Iowa State University, I find it appalling that KCCI would allow an employee (on their KCCI twitter handle no less) express such bias and vitriol towards a school, that quite frankly supports native Iowans, as much or more than any other state institution. Iowa State is having a historic year on the gridiron and the fact YOUR station allows this behavior is unacceptable. In fact, the more I type, the more PO'd I get. Any lack of action against this behavior will be considered by myself, and I'm sure thousands of other Iowans, as acceptance on the part of KCCI.

I hope you consider this a serious matter. There is nothing wrong with showing loyalty for the school you root for, but it is extremely wrong to use your position in the public eye to demean an in state institution that graduates more Iowans than any other state school.

I will wait for something that is MORE than an apology from Beau (which quite honestly nobody will accept as genuine at this point anyhow).

So, the Big 12 and Big 10 are a joke. And if those two are a joke, then the PAC definitely is then. So, you have the ACC and SEC that aren't? The ACC is being propped up by adding ND for a season, otherwise it's pretty much Clemson, Miami and kinda UNC. It's just a bad take from a head-in-the-sand, bitter hawk fan that can't stand ISU taking all the publicity. He's not the only one, that's for sure.

Morons like Murph and Andy seriously think they can convince people John Sears wasn't doing the exact same thing in in his Lazard interview back when the kid was a senior in high school.

Same exact behavior, same transparent immaturity and jealous fan behavior from somebody who is supposed to be a journalist.

Meh, Hawk homers in the local media are circling the wagons. Iowa States brand is starting to impact the state in ways they have never seen and are not used too.

Not the smartest career move. Might as well tell us his political leanings while hes at it.

What’s the deal with the native Iowan angle. Does it make a difference if they were born here versus chose to move here?

Seriously. When we lived in Iowa and some 15 years ago, I just got fed up with any local journalism. Too much work weeding through all of it to find the 5% that was worthwhile. Haven't watched a local station for 15 years other than to catch a sporting event. Haven't missed it at all. This is just a reminder of why.

If I, or most of us, practiced our professions with the complete lack of professionalism and discipline that much of the media does, we'd be toast.

I spent my first year at ISU in Journalism. Don't ask me why. It was miserable. I didn't understand to what extent the profession had been poisoned but I knew it wasn't a good place to be. So close to career disaster, I think I have a case of Schlitz to thank for saving me.

Sounds like Hok fans when Hoiberg's 'thugs' were doing well while Iowa's players were literally body slamming opponents' players on the court.

They'll probably still pull out the 'yeah but ISU only ever gets up for Iowa' schtick after this season if ISU beats Iowa next year.
