1000 dollars in Bitcoin in 2017. Sold for a loss of 500 for some VeChain, whoops a daisy. Although I should make my money back in a year.

bought a 2500 dollar gaming computer with student loans.

spent student loans on drinks at es tas (only partially regret)

la Z boy furniture. That **** is garbage now. I have flex steel in the basement, 100 times better.

Bought a Chrysler 200C

invested a ton into Phillips hue bulbs and eventually got rid of them for retrofit recessed lighting.
That is a quite a list of bad choices. But the Chrysler may have been the worst?

A $90 food processor because I had the idea I wanted to make fruit smoothies as sort of a health kick/weight loss gimmick. I used it for that purpose maybe three times and it sits on my countertop now collecting dust. Even if I wanted to use it now, I've forgotten how it works. I could probably figure it out, but it makes me tired just thinking about it. And the odd thing is, I've been cooking a lot of fancy recipes lately, and at least some of the ones I want to try require some type of blender or food processor, but as soon as I see that it requires that, I decide not to try the recipe after all.

I wouldn't say these are the worst...in fact, probably overall lessons learned.

1. Out of college bought a new car going into grad school...it wasn't expensive (like $13k)...but I remember i in my head was like "well, my stipend will be xxxx, so i can afford that". Thankfully i did have a good car that was reliable, paid off a couple years later and got money back out of it (and in theory got through grad school without any auto issues like i'd had in undergrad.

2. This was actually probably what i DIDN'T purchase..durign grad school i didn't take out loans and basically broke even, except books were always the credit card floating bill. My last two semesters, i didn't buy books because I'd learned I just didn't read/comprehend and could get the info differently.

This is not something I did, but kind of fits in this thread. There was someone in college my freshmen year who's schooling was being paid for by either his family or grandparents. Well, he had this great idea that he would take out student loans to pay for school, and use the money from his parents/grandparents to buy a car!

Its a quality unit, but the rainbow sales process is predatory. Their scheme is to have the end user convince 12 of their friends to have a in home demo, then they can get the unit for free. But thats a lot of demos and hard to do. Also, they make you decide to buy it same day, if you do its $2800, if you wait its like $3900.

We own a Rainbow and it is amazing how dirty the water is after vacuuming the carpet and using it on the hardwood floors. Yes, it is expensive upfront, but they last forever if you take care of them.

We did the demo as a favor to a couple of friends with no intention of buying, they even told us to not worry about buying. Then they pulled out our old vacuum and compared it to the Rainbow and my wife about fell out of the chair how much stuff came out of our area rug. Ours also works as an air purifier which is great in the winter, and we got the carpet cleaner attachment as well. I do not regret the purchase at all, maybe it is because we have someone who cleans for us, so we rarely use it. :)

Most of mine are used and originally purchased from Flight Club. Unfortunately the most lucrative pair I would have were stolen when my car got broken into about 10 years back.

Which were?

What’s the dumbest purchase you’ve made? I’m not talking like realizing you’ve over paid for a car and have buyers remorse, more like something you would have 100% been better off without.

I’ll start: spent $100 on CBD oil as I was told it would help with poor sleep and anxiety. Didn’t do a damn thing. Felt like I got duped by a snake oil salesmen. Might as well have purchased a $100 bottle of water.
A box of condoms‍♂️When I dated the woman for two years. I think I used one the pill is one hellova drug!

I bought my son pitching lessons during the winter. Then spring came and the new coach decided he didn’t want him to pitch and to just play short stop. That was 200 dollars.
Also I spent money getting divorced. Alimony, lawyer bills, child support. Wait that was totally worth it. Best money ever spent

Spent about $3k on a ski vacation last winter. Our two kids got sick on the way out and we spent the entire time in the condo except for a half day of skiing.

When I was younger, we had a house cat that got sick with feline leukemia and my mom ended up making payments to the vet for a dead cat.

2013 Ford Fusion, purchased brand new at a dealer in Columbia MO, first set of tires we got 10 K miles out of, second set about 15. Our local dealer said it was out of line, spent $300 + tires on a new alignment. Next set lasted about 20K. Took it back to the dealer, they said it was the tires, Goodyear said it was the car. Ford bumped it up to a district manager, car tested, checked out fine on the machine they tell me. I said, "take it out on the interstate and get it above 50 and every time you hit a bump, the rear-end of the car shimmies a little. They refused to do anything. Local dealer gave me a new set of tires at cost. We had the vehicle for 5 years, 95K miles and went through 5 sets of brand new tires. Last time I was at the dealer, she asked if I was still having problems with the car, I said yes, and she said, see that silver one down there, it has the same problem, and Ford refuses to do anything about it. She said to buy a Toyota, they stand behind their product.

We purchased a 2018 Toyota Camry new, love it, and the tire problems have gone away.
I told the district manager that we have purchased 5 new ford products over the last 30 years, will never buy another.
Screw them.

Drive it. Cars were made to be driven and very few Corvettes will be truly collectible.

Sad to report my MIL had a corvette that she sold shortly before I met my wife. I would have loved to have had it.
