Tom Manning was pathetic today, he did a really poor job in so many ways. He has to continue to get better, I worry he’s stubborn though.

nothing in new wrinkles today, refuse to pass on first down despite ou selling out on the run, and putting the line and Purdy in horrific spots, completely unprepared...again...for an obviously aggressive defense

what about a screen? A tight end screen? Where was soehner? Throw on first down? We had major match up advantages with our tight ends and did ****

he has to get better

Yeah I totally thought Purdy was a senior. F.

I was worried about him taking an extra year and thus sacrificing a year of upside to next QB up.

That loss is still heavily on Purdy though. This is him in big games. Deny it all you want, either he figures it out or we lose a few next year because of his bonkers decision making under pressure. 3 INTS, still almost won. Half our passing playbook are short dump offs. He is our ceiling right now.
Yeah you don't need a deep-threat passing game to win when you have a good defense. I believe the New England Patriots won 6 Super Bowls hardly ever throwing the ball past 10 yards. They did it here and there, which is exactly what Brock can do. Just be accurate and move the sticks. With our TEs we should be hitting the seams and short routes until the other team has to bring everyone in.

Please move on from being an ISU fan if you're gonna post **** like this. People like you make the rest of the fan base look dumb.

OK I will stop being the casual fan I am for mistakenly thinking our QB is a senior.

I won't do the two posts I make every other year now, and that'll fix everything.

Bye Cyclonesssss I have had my fan card taken away.

The worst thing about program growth is that expectations grow even faster. I so much wish a glorious game winning TD would have the final result, but this team is at a place never seen in ISU football history. I'm disappointed in the outcome today, but incredibly excited about the future!

You seriously don't fool anyone. I don't know why you're still allowed to post TBH.

I dont even post anyways so not sure what you are talking about, I haven't posted anything for months on this site. Guess I have my fan card taken away because I don't accept losses like that.

You come around when things are bad because you are not an Iowa State fan.

So you're fine with that last play? Or our 5th year senior lineman false starting 2 plays in a row? I'm **** pissed they lost like that. Thst game was there for the taking and they panicked because our brilliant OC couldn't even get a play called in on time.

now do we go back to our colors more that we finally lost in the blacks?? :jimlad:

After seeing a highlight earlier this week and then this game, I am starting to think that the black unis are actually pretty good. I will enjoy seeing them wear the colors again though.

I've seen a lot of dumb on this site, but this might take the cake. Brock Purdy is the best QB to ever suit up for the Cyclones, and if you are against him, you are not a Cyclone fan.

Yeah I'm not "against" our players. I mistook him for a senior and simply hoped, in that wrong case, he wouldn't take the extra covid year of eligibility and put our next QB an extra year behind in developing. I was wrong. But I maintain his decision making is a bigger issue than his upside in big games, and that his deep ball keeps losing accuracy and was better his freshman year.

I agree with pretty much all this, but Soehner could barely move out there today. Not sure if that was visible on tv or not but I’m sure it was a grind for him to even be out there

It was a bad play. Oklahoma is a good team.
Iowa State is better. Better coaching, already beat them once, and finished a game ahead of them. Nobody will remember that though outside of Central Iowa because Oklahoma are the Big 12 "champions now" all because Manning panicked and no other coach thought to call a timeout and settle down.

You'd still want him gone to be replaced by someone for developmental reasons... versus winning right now? It's a mindblowingly stupid take either way.

Who ******* cares if anyone outside of Iowa State fans would remember it? If they won the Big 12, no one outside of central Iowa would remember it. Case in point, I don't remember when your great great great grandfather in law won the Big 12 or the Big 8 or whatever. I think they might have won, but I really have no clue.
