Players staying and leaving for 21-22 season

Sean Foster could benefit from another year as a starter. Not on any draft boards yet, but maybe Dave Andrews can help change that.

He is the one that I thought would benefit from the extra year. He made a lot of progress in the last year, and looked pretty darn good against Oregon's All-American for the most part. He might get a look, but he might also come back and be all Big 12.

For what it is worth, I looked over the roster and there are 17 seniors. Allen is coming back and 4 of the other guys are 2 kickers and 2 punters, so that leave 12 guys leaving, and some of them may still come back. I wonder if Joshua Bailey might be thinking about coming back?

I’m not surprised about Kolar leaving. He doesn’t really have anything left to prove and he’s likely a 3rd to 4th round pick and already has an engineering degree to fall back on.

I wish Soehner would stay because he could pick up a ton more catches with Kolar gone. That being said, we will have a massive need for a transfer receiver and/or Tyler Moore to be ready to go right away with how many receiving yards are going away with Kolar gone.

Easton Dean and Chase Allen will have monster years next year.

I looked at the official ISU roster. 3 of those are walkons. Couple kickers and an OL I think.

Kolar has nothing to gain by staying. Even if he ends up going in like the 5th round, that’s still a ton of money.

Hakeem Butler has gotten cut twice and hasn’t played a down in the NFL as a 4th round pick, but he still has career earnings over $1.4 million. Kolar needs to go now. Staying is almost irresponsible.

Maybe he wants to finish his degree in engineering, which not irresponsible.

So Kolar has his degree. He does not seem to have much more to prove at ISU. Compared to Purdy who may feel he does have unfinished things to accomplish. Seems like a good move to try the NFL if he is getting positive feedback from the NFL and make some money. Both have had great seasons and careers.

I'm really happy that Allen has played so much and get's to have another year. I believe he got hit by a car and mono in his first couple weeks at ISU, so it was a rough start.

I don't believe so, but he also got here late. Dean has had an extra year to develop. I won't be surprised to see Hanika make a jump this off-season.

Kene is a smart guy. He might want to come back so he can get a free year of grad school.

Kene has his degree. He has really looked good this year playing behind an All-American. If he wants to continue to play football and be a starter, then he would make a very good
RB for a lot of colleges. He would be wanted. I can see why he would transfer.

I’d guess a 2nd to 4th round pick. 2nd round could be a stretch, but his production was 2nd to Pitts out of te’s draft eligible. He has the character, smarts, route running, size, and hands to be a good NFL tight end.

I’d love to see Kolar 2nd rd but highly unlikely.. doesn’t have speed to be that high..
