Most of the players don't look like they pick up a ball all week, I'm done watching this year.

If Prohm is back next year - 10 win team for him to fully implode the brand/future.
Call Fred.

I know we suck at defense but I thought we were supposed to be OK at offense. We have only scored 70 pts three games this year and average less than 67. Defense is "only" giving up 77 per game but take away the Jackson St game and it is over 80. I called 90-60 in 1st half when we were only down 40-25 but we couldn't get to 60 nor hold them to 90.

Anyone else think you'd be happy to keep this to less than a 20 point loss? The entire season is like a betting line. Wins and losses are kind of off the table this year.
Hell, I consider a loss by single digits a win anymore.

I couldn't be more bullish on our future with the next coach. Let's get started March 1st and JP will have a lot of good options. New coach comes in with the program at absolute rock bottom, and a fan base that knows its a 2-3 year rebuild minimum.

Just not sold on Otzelberger as an upgrade. I think there are better candidates who would be interested.

Imagine if Prohm’s took the Alabama job a few years ago when his stock was high and we got Oats to come here. Even with a stocked roster, I think Prohm is the 9th best coach in the league

Sigh...I wrote earlier in the thread that I was actually somewhat excited about being able to watch a game, since with my current work schedule I normally can't do that on Saturdays. And I did give it a try but I had to turn it off at the 8+ minute timeout in the first half when it was 28-13. I do feel bad for these kids and to a lesser extent the coaching staff, but this is just depressing and sad. Three years ago when the team only won 13 games I could accept that since that team was still competitive and actually beat the crap out of both Texas Tech and West Virginia in Hilton. Last season's struggles made me mad when we lost by 30 at Hilton to Texas Tech and FAMU. This season I'm just sad about it.

One of the things I like about Otzelberger is that I feel he would have a long leash due to his previous time here and the obvious rebuilding job he would be faced with. He would also have a ready made support group similar to the way Fred did his first season. Not quite to the same level of course as the hometown hero, but more of one than I think just about any other first year coach would get.

Otz may not end up being good, but there’s no way he would be worse than this.

Otz has the resume. P6 experience, proven recruiter, head coaching experience. I wouldn’t be mad with it. But I really hope Pollard explores all that’s out there before hiring him (because he hasn’t done that in past searches).

Yeah, every hire is a bit of a roll of the dice. Even good coaches don't always succeed at every stop (McDermott is a decent example of that)

But i'll take a roll of the dice over the known result we have right now. It would be damn near impossible for whoever we hire to be worse.
