No preseason practice. Limited practice time since. Lost games to covid. No normalcy in their college experience. Season spiraled down right away, so they’re discouraged.

they haven’t had a chance to catch up. The game is still way way too fast for them

Or they just aren’t very good - “normalcy in their college experience” may be the dumbest excuse I’ve seen yet. These freshman are now almost 20 games and months and months of practice into their college experience.

Let’s look at Prohm’s record developing talent...that is likely more of the reason than “normalcy in their college experience”.

Or, you know, there’s a pandemic which has changed the way these kids go to school, and practice, and stuff

Bob Huggins didn't divulge exactly how he lit into his West Virginia team at halftime when it trailed Texas by 10 points.
“You wouldn't want to print what was said,” the Mountaineers coach said.
The message registered. Sean McNeil and No. 13 West Virginia erased a 19-point deficit in the second half, then withstood a flurry of last-second misses to hold off No. 12 Texas 84-82 on Saturday.

Good adjustment and personnel decisions at half... wish CSP would channel a little Huggins w both the team and the refs. The opportunity to take the game was there and we let Reaves “sell” fouls to the officials to create their final separation. Teams reflect coaches and this team of coaches has no closing mentality or toughness which is why we see it reflected inconsistently in the play on the court.

We can't even score in the 60s most of the time. It's just bad basketball, all the way around.
The offense is similar to McD @ ISU except polar opposite getting there.
Prohm doesnt appear to be running plays and McD ran too many plays with too many variables and used up too much of the shot clock.
He learned from it, and I enjoy Creighton's style of play.

This shows that there really isn’t any interest in conversation.

person asked why specifickids were struggling. Gave real answer, and immediately if you don’t say it’s because they and their coach are ****, it’s an excuse.

people read this stuff.

Don‘t have ****** recruiting classes and you won’t have to rely on 6 newcomers and freshman every year.

Maybe thank Altman and DeVries for that. And Jacobsen for what he did at UNI.

Even if that's the case Greg had to be willing to change since he was in charge.
I held my tongue judging Greg because how well Dougie was but since he graduated they've still been very solid. His offense this year has been clean and uptempo.

FWIW I thought ISU looked like they made some adjustments and executed well yesterday. Just don't have the talent to sustain and close out.

There's certainly other evidence that a change is needed but for a stretch yesterday ISU played some good purposeful basketball. The spacing, ball movement, etc. was good and that was the first time I've seen Reaves look at least a little flustered.

You are correct. He has seen the light. Just like at UNI. Funny how the shades were drawn at ISU.
