As someone who is in the know... the next thing is a mini DSW so you can get your shoe fix on while also getting your food fix on. This is already in the works at a couple of the quad cities stores which are being remodeled right now and will be in some of the metro area stores later this summer.

I see no way this will flop.

It always amazes me the people who talk about Fareway meat. There are only a few packers of meat today so there is really not much difference it is just a perception due to Fareway having had service cases longer than other chains. 32 years in the business.

He lives next door to my buddy. They have the "Bonnie & Clyde" **** all over their cars. It's a nice neighborhood, but they're straight up white trash.

One of my friends from ISU watches Love After Lockup and was telling me about how one of the screwballs ended up in my area. It just turned out that later that day I was going over to said buddy's house and saw all the Bonnie & Clyde **** next door. They were just moving in.

Yep that’s them!

Up here our HyVee store is getting a specific new building just for Aisles Online. I'm not sure I understand that at all.

We also have 13 restaurants, a Wahlburgers, Mayo Urgent Care, and the stupid clothing section. I don't get it.

I'll just keep repeating this

Retail is changing, they are trying to stay ahead of the curve and will try things that fail. Retailers who aren't trying to innovate are the ones who will ultimately lose.

It’s the experience and their choice of cuts they purchase from said producers that I always liked. Does Hy-vee have those giant double chicken breasts?

They do a lot of their own butchering and processing, I believe.

Butchering and processing makes a huge difference.

They accommodate pretty much any request at the Fareway I go to.

Last week there was a guy getting them to cut up 20 pounds of pork shoulder like they do stew meat, which they happily did with no extra charge. They always know I want their largest fresh roasting chicken and when they see me at counter, always say “I’ll go back and get your chicken sweetie,” before I open my mouth. (Yes even the women butchers call me sweetie, I think cause I am old.)

And none of this trying to “round up” the request for 1 pound of deli meat to 1.66 pounds cause the guy sliced more than he should like Hy Vee used to try.

Living in WI we have to be a little careful where we buy our beef. Those old dairy cows have to go somewhere.
