Based on the last podcast CW(unless I'm crossing my wires with the McD stuff they talked about before) TJ apparently had an amazing staff planned last time the position opened. Like I just said, there's a very good chance I'm getting the 2 mixed up but I'm pretty sure it was TJ
Yes and it was a killer staff.

They didn’t say. They are calling that “premium content” now. That’s what CW and Blum and Stanz havebecome now...”Protectirs of the premium content and lords of the teases!”

I don’t think he withheld because it was “premium.” He withheld because it was 6 years ago, probably unconfirmed anyway, and likely not representative of current state or helpful to anyone to set that expectation this time around. Especially since that particular podcast was recorded before the TJ news “formally” broke.

It also makes sense to keep this info close to your chest just in case a potential Coach TJ wants to assemble a slightly different staff. Helps prevent any FOMO bias on the fan base’s part from clouding the actual picks he makes.

I was curious for comparison and looked at our current assistant coaches. Near as I could ascertain from their bios none had P6 experience before coming to ISU. Having bench coaches with experience in different systems and competing with and recruiting against other top P6 schools seems like a good plan going forward.

No worries on experience................TJ's cup runneth over.

Saw someone pushing for Greg Lansing. Curious why? Other than he is from Iowa what is the fascination? He was part of an ugly period at EIU, his coaching record at Indiana State was poor. Last place he won was Des Moines Roosevelt.

Because apparently all coaches must have some sort of connection to Iowa at the very least. Preferably to Iowa state.

Your obviously being stupid, but are Charlie and TJ close? I thought he was more of a Hoiberg guy.

Either way, he’s smart because he didn’t go to nebraska.

I'd put the odds of that happening near 0 and we shouldn't want it to. I think the actual staff is going to be pretty impressive.

You've got to put it in perspective. What he did at Indiana State with the resources that program has is pretty impressive. By far the lowest budget in the Valley and the worst institutional support (leadership there is a disaster) and he was able to consistently finish in the top half of the league among teams that have nearly double the budget he does.

You know he's well respected when pretty much every coach in the league went out of their way to talk about what a travesty it was that he wasn't renewed.
