Ya it is tough when Bill can't just pay players anymore due to a slight bit of scrutiny.
Anyone seen Coach K? Calipari? Izzo? Smart? Despite their elite recruits, they will all be at home tuning in to watch Self and Kansas continue to play. Self took the weakest roster he's had in 15 years to 2nd place in the best conference in America, a #3 seed in the tourney and won their first game despite their best player missing the last 10 days of practice due to covid plus missing another starter and a backup.
Anyone who thinks Self has achieved what he has done due purely to the talent he has amassed is ignorant or biased. The dude can flat out coach.
He can coach, no doubt.
But to flat out say he'd 'lay waste' with this tournament ignores that he's gotten bounced early lots of times with the same sort of talent that UT brings in.
Name one person on CF that said Self can't coach.
What is laughable is that you infer Self is winning with Iowa State level talent. No McD AAs on this year's KU squad?
So how many Cyclones are scheduling work meetings with hawk fans between 11:00 to 1:00 tomorrow? Maybe turn the video on those virtual meetings to make sure they're paying attention.

I didn't infer anything. That's just you making more of it than it was. I stated that this was the least amount of talent that he has had to work with. That is a 100% true statement.
It's more than all the other coaches seem to be able to pull off despite rosters with allegedly even higher payrolls.
Coach K has lost first round games to an 11, a 14 and a 15 since Self last lost in the tourney's first round. Not to mention missing the tourney entirely this year. Do you have any concept of how much players are being paid to attend Duke?

Yeah I’ve always been amazed at how many fans don’t realize Self is a great coach. By the same token, it took many years to catch on that Scott Drew became a great coach over his time at Baylor.
So poor Bill is forced to try and win this year with one less McDAA than he usually has?
On that subject, in the "nobody asked" category, this is first time in 20 years I haven't had the 4 opening weekend days off from work. Had planned to continue again this season, but colleague had a death in the family and I have to cover. So the streak has ended.
Not a big deal, only missing the first set of games Fri & Mon, for the most part.
