Haven’t seen things lining up like this in awhile. Target area is the usual early spring areas: MS, AL, TN Valley, all the way up to the Ohio Valley.

For anyone that watches live coverage from other areas, I like James Spann on ABC 33/40 out of Birmingham and Matt Laubach out of WTVA in Tupelo.

This area is notorious for tornado fatalities due to HP supercells and the highest numbers of people living in trailers in the country.

Hope everyone down there is on high alert. Sounds like it could get bad.

Thanks for the live coverage notes, like I really wanted to work today!
Looks like some schools/colleges in the Tupelo area closed today. Assuming because of this threat?

Got a nice looking tornado warned storm with a possible donut hole working towards the Birmingham area right now.

These days are hard. There are people alive right now that potentially won't be tonight, many times just due to their situation. The current tornado watch goes until 8PM. That is 8+ hours from issuance that people especially in low income areas need to be close to well fortified shelter just in case. That is hard and in my places impossible.

Couple that with flood threats and it’s a recipe for disaster down in that part of the world.

Spann had to come off the air for a few minutes. Tornado hit his house and had pretty significant damage in his neighborhood

Yikes. First Troy Kimmel got hit hard by the freeze in Austin and now this. Not a great year for Weather Brains hosts.
