Is the fact that one or more new assistants haven't been officially announced yet more apt to be due to:

1. Otz is waiting for all 3 positions to get filled to announce them at same time
2. Green is not sure he wants to make the move
3. Otz is trying to get Pollard to commit to more $ to lure good assistants
4. None of the above

Sorry for my impatience, but after watching the women's heartbreaking loss last night, I'm craving good news today.
I think option 1 is the most likely. I wouldn't be surprised if they already have 1 or 2 assistants agreed to. I think if they were going to announce whenever someone was hired they would do one already.

I wouldn't be surprised if Green already agreed. I think it also points to the assistants will be Midwest heavy. I expect some big announcement where they introduce each coach with the whole big 12 option for the big 10.

Isn’t there a potential gray area for “unemployed” assistants to make a bunch of extra recruiting contacts? I swear ISU has taken advantage of this before.

I know what you’re talking about but don’t remember the exact circumstances though. I do think it was men’s bball IIRC.

Chances are, new hires would be active or employed by other staffs, I would think. Not dissing your idea tho.
I just remember it as assistants who had resigned their previous positions, knew they were coming here, but hadn’t been officially hired yet. Kind of a shady loophole. Or I’m completely off-base.

IIRC we lost a guard to Cal when he was recruited by an "assistant" coach who was not on staff yet. Don't recall the kids name but it was under Prohm's regime. I believe he had signed his LOI has requested to be released.

I thought Cal hired his AAU coach, or “handler” as he was referred too.

And go figure...he left there eventually to SMU and is now leaving SMU to transfer. Hopefully he'll find his 'fit' sooner than later.

He and Grill may want to look into starting one of those traveling exhibition teams that used to be popular in a few years.

Not sure how well Phyfe would do in the big12, but he's a good high post passer, which is something else missed for several years.

I've said this before, but AJ has to improve ball handling and cut down TO's to be a PG. He's really similar to Bolton, imo
No comparison to Bolton! Don’t need him to play point either! Especially in Hunter stays with ISU! AJ is a great shooter and that is what we need!
