Beard to Texas

Why is everyone saying this is a good move for Iowa State? I don't get that.

I would imagine the thinking is Texas always gets great recruits and is at the very least good. Texas tech isn’t historically that good so without beard they should revert back to being a win for Iowa state

There is always a chance Texas will be better than us, and with Beard, Tech WAS better than us. By losing Beard we possibly can stay ahead of Tech, and we're always going to struggle with Texas no matter the coach.

Yup. We've only won at Texas like once in 10 years or something like that? And I don't care what team comes through Hilton's doors when that place is rocking like it should be. This is a net positive for Iowa State.

Because Texas is usually going to be somewhat competent at worst. While Tech at their worst is 2 free wins.

Agreed I only had 15 minutes of hope UNC was hiring Beard to make this a major win for ISU. Still UT will always have talent and be a top half team. TT without Beard falls back to the also rans pending their hire. They did hire Beard last time so I want to see who they end up with but overall good news for ISU/TJOtz

ask the SEC, it's nice to have consistent punching bags in the bottom of the league. Especially for a team in ISUs position where they are starting a rebuild. Very excited to get back to the days where Tech was an after thought
