I had absolutely zero reaction to Moderna #1. #2 I had at 10am, nothing at all that day. Woke up the next morning with body aches, chills , slight headache. I was down for most of the day, but also I never took any OTC stuff to combat the symptoms.

Yes,both wife and I got J&J. She had mild arm soreness, while I fortunately had zero side effects.
I am wondering if the people that are having no, or very slight reactions, had Covid but were undiagnosed or asymptomatic.
What we have actually seen is those that had Covid are tending to have stronger side effects from the FIRST vaccine. It is acting like the second booster shot for those who did not have Covid. Obviously exceptions both ways but that is the trend.
From what I’ve read the reasons for a different response can vary pretty widely. Genetics, immune system health, even past exposure to other coronaviruses.
I hadn’t seen the first shot deal for people who’ve had COVID
well, I’m not reporting a study, just first hand real world observation of trends. Maybe it doesn’t hold true on larger scale but definitely the case in my area.
But it makes sense. The first dose is supposed to slowly prime your immune system. But if your body already recognizes it from an infection it’ll attack it right away.
You had literally the exact same reaction to both doses as me. The day after dose #2 knocked me out but was great on day 3. All well worth it to return to normalcy soon.
My low-level reaction to #2 started just beyond the 24-hour mark.Had Pfizer Dose #2 yesterday afternoon and thus far very little symptoms (knock on wood) so basically the same result as after Dose 1. Almost makes you wonder if the thing worked?
Pfizer #2 was on Monday afternoon. Sore arm like the first one. Had occasional aches yesterday, and an on and off mild headache. Never ran a fever or anything like that.
Feel almost 100% normal today. I made a point to drink a lot of water after the shot, so maybe that helped stave off any worse symptoms.

i had covid and only a slight reaction to JJ shot. Nothing like my wife, who did not have covid. She was knocked on her ass for two days.
My 2nd Pfizer shot sucked. Really bad headache (maybe a migraine) along with fatigue and nausea. That said, happy I did it and can start to get back to pre-pandemic life a bit.
Getting my second Pfizer today. Wish me luck.

Missed that the first time around. You're right in your OP, there's a lot of things that can factor into it.
Just saw my employer is now offering a signup for Pfizer shots thru HyVee in a couple weeks. Leads me to believe that supply in Polk county is getting better, we employ a large chunk of people here to offer an open signup to.

I found my sense of smell returning the weeks after shot #1. I hope this second shot restores more. Food is tasting like I remember before I was sick in November.
