When I stick to 20/4 fast, it works. Weekends when I don't fast and beer kill it. Mostly beer.

A little inspiration for everyone... The photo below is me in the same shirt. On the left, 9/1/2018 and about 350lbs. On the right, tonight after my workout and right on 250lbs.

View attachment 80610

I turned 40 just before Halloween and have been very overweight my entire life (and, let's be honest, I still am). But it can be done at any age. Just find something you can stick with, no matter how small it seems, and then stick with it. Be patient. Over the course of 3 to 12 months, the tiny changes you can't see from one day to the next will add up to a dramatic transformation.

There will be ups and downs. Pay attention to the day-to-day, but don't get hung up on it. Binging, skipping a workout, etc is like throwing an INT or giving up a homerun. Acknowledge it, figure out why it happened, and move on.
Looks like your beard shaped up too! Good job with the weight loss.

Weighed in this morning at 244, which puts me at -95 lbs since starting keto 13 months ago and -121 lbs from my heaviest.

This afternoon I was working on ripping out old carpet. We are replacing it with floating vinyl plank flooring. I had to pull a bunch of staples out of the floor that the previous owners had used to secure the carpet pad. As I pulled the staples with needle nosed pliers, occasionally my floppy titty would swing and audibly slap against my lower ribs. Kinda funny, kinda annoying, but a reminder of how my body has transformed.

ETA: I had been "stuck" at 250 lbs for about a month but stayed on track and the last couple weeks the weight started dropping agin. When you plateau, don't give up!

Weighed myself this morning at 196. Yay !!
Haven't gotten enough steps in the last few days as I have been so busy at work this week. Only 13.5k yesterday and so far today about 7800.
Need to take a good walk as soon as I log off.

Not exactly sure.
Covid weight gone. Watching diet and increased movement. Now I get to shed that 20-30 pounds I originally was going to last year. Starting with some light weights also. Last time I hit the weights hard I cramped up my upper body for a week and killed momentum.

I did the Optavia diet to support my girlfriend last summer. I lost 20# July 5 through mid-October. I maintained pretty well through the holidays but started to climb back up 5# or so. I've started doing the 16/8 fasting along with alternating leg/upper workouts daily and the weight is back down. I've decided I want to lose another 3-6# but overall pretty happy with the results.

I started the keto diet along with the intermittent fasting I was already doing a few months ago. Before this I rarely ate until I got home from work at 5. This can be effective unless you are eating crap food when you do eat. That was my problem, along with soda. While I wasn't gaining weight rapidly I was indeed gaining weight.

I still rarely eat until 5 pm, but now I eat a steak, ground beef, or chicken with some broccoli or asparagus or some sautéed onions and have completely eliminated sugar and starches.

Working a desk job where I sit for 8 hours a day doesn't help but the weight is coming off slowly. If I were to exercise more the weight would come off quicker, but as is I lose a few pounds a week with what I am doing.

I do think the fact that my body had already been accustomed to the intermittent fasting made it easier to start the keto diet as I didn't feel that hungry after eliminating most carbs.

When I started back on the Bowflex in January I started extremely light for the few sessions just to try and avoid hurting myself after a 10 year layoff. After the first few I increased it some more and now I increase the resistance every few weeks. I haven't skipped a workout since Jan 1.

Still sitting at about 196 and want to get down 5-10 more. Had two 27 year old women I know comment that I am looking really good. :D

I have lost 17 pounds since march 1 last year, from 190 to 173. All I do is walk 2 miles on the treadmill at lunch everyday and watch netflix. It has been easy since I have been banished to working from home since that time. Just move and don't eat crap. Also, i changed from beer to wine, and that has helped as well.

Gonna be starting my own weight loss journey here soon. l'll be graduating from ISU next Saturday and then I'll be back home for the summer and working at my high school while I continue to search for jobs. I'm excited because I'll be able to use their weight room and I actually really enjoy lifting when I've done it. One thing about me is that I just haven't been able to keep on a cardio plan for more than a couple weeks. I think a big problem is that is my lower body isn't strong enough to keep me going. I went and played soccer casually on Saturday and my legs were just killing me not long into playing. So I'm really gonna focus on gaining strength with a lot of maximum repetitions sets added in and try to stay on a nice cardio plan.

Lol I have some floppy parts that are basically like a nail in my psyche when they jiggle. Good thing though I can actually see my abs. I never even saw those when I was in swimming in high school.

I have been taking a testosterone booster for the last 4 or 5 months and I basically quit exercising more than my job already demands because my body would just hurt too much. I'm still getting leaner even without extra effort so if you're having success with a good routine I would recommend adding a t-booster for anybody over the age of 30 or 35 and the results will be dramatic. (Men of course)

Some of the benefits I noticed outside of your physical appearance from using a t-booster are your mood improves, you sleep better, your appetite is under control, you recover quickly, you have more energy, etc. Basically the fountain of youth was found for men and it's testosterone. Plus your wife or girlfriend will thank you for taking it, wink wink.

Saw this pop up on Twitter. Learning the difference between refined and complex carbs is another nuance to diet.

This is huge. I did a diabetic diet where you eat foods that don't Spike your glycemic rates. Oatmeal, whole grains, yams, rice are all great if you're trying to lose weight.
