Testifying
Philly's press in the 4th was impressive. ATL needs to practice against that really really urgently.

It's too bad Embiid's injuries are just a part of the deal. He's quite a specimen.

Man, maybe I needed to add Trae Young to my list of really young players who have been or could be MVP.

Trae Young is special. Reminds me of a young Steph.

Agreed. We had a discussion not too long ago about Tyrese Hunters' 6-0 or 6-1 height, and how that is a disadvantage. Trey is that height, only 6-1, and we don't think of him as being able to be a dominant player because of it. But he is special.
trey young - Bing

In contrast, Steph Curry is 6-3. The extra two inches is very helpful.

This is really the first I've seen of Luka Doncic. The ABC commentators are describing him as a cross between Larry Bird and Magic Johnson! Holy cow! That's some pretty rarified air and extremely high praise!

I know the compliment might be just a little exaggerated but still. He's got my attention.

He's a very nice player! Doncic does have 29 pts with 1 min left in first half. Not bad! He's a 6-7 point guard, nothing like Magic IMO, but very good PG. But he can kind of shoot like Bird, sort of maybe. A very good shooter no doubt.

The combination of those two qualities is pretty special though.

I'm sure there are some plans in the making now to eventually get him on some super-team. May be a while. Dallas won't want to give him up.

Finally an Atlanta or team from Georgia who didn't choke a game away. That being said it was just game 1 of a 7 game series and Philly missed a ton of free throws in this game. I think if Philly shows up with that late 4th quarter effort for 48 minutes they will still take this series.

It's a good comp. He shoots high release and quick like Bird and has some of Magic's game too in running an offense.

Dallas makes super-teams, they don’t give up their guys to help form them.

Hard to beat Kawhi vs Luka in game 7 for a first round matchup. Both look up to the challenge.
Can't forget Kawhi. What a great player and his team might be advancing, up 17, 9 min left in game.

Kawhi is still only 29 y/o, soon to be 30 this month. Been in the League 10 years already, accomplished a lot!

Dang, definitely would rather see Doncic for another series than LA. Just not much help for him tonight, he desperately needs a partner in Dallas.

Really, ok. Which ones, other than the couple years Dirk was contending and the one year he/they won the title? I can't remember back that far.

Leonard won't do the same things but to me he effects the game in the same manner that someone like MJ did where he just seems to influence everything even if he's not on or with ball.

They had some really good years with Kidd and then Nash. Might have made a finals in there somewhere but I can’t remember.
