Yeah, that’s doubt the remaining 8 will stick it out. Someone will blink.

Who will blink and to where? Again I think KU is the only plus program left in the conference at that point and they are a zero appeal add when it comes to football which is what this is all about. I think the Big 10 would add them but where is everybody else going?

The rest of the Big 12 are small zero market teams. TT is in Texas but it’s as far from Lubbock to Austin as it is to drive from Ames to Chicago.

This truly is a worst case scenario spot for ISU.

AAC seems most likely or a version of Big 12 leftovers and some AAC teams.

If joining the Pac-12 means collecting a big check, then I'm all for it. This sucks though.

How is this anything short of a disaster for Iowa state?
It’s definitely bad but you responded to someone saying the pac 12 and big 10 won’t take us with “that’s it.” Like he actually knows what the hell is going on lol. No one does. Seriously no one. And I’m all for being realistic, but right now we really don’t know the current situation. I love discussing things and talking things through but I 100% disagree with you that it’s over for Iowa state.

There are so many in such denial. It’s so crucial for us to have the Big 12 stay the way it is.

Honestly I could see a situation where the pac 12 would be fine. But it’s not the situation that we are currently in. That’s the deal for me. We are so close to building a god damned national program.

It’s hard to see how that would continue in the pac 12.

Even if we get a B1G invite it is still a bad position. We are essentially competing with all the schools we recruit against without the alt conference pitch and we lose Texas Oklahoma and other bases.

I’m not saying it’s over.

I’m saying that if our best case is the pac 12, it’s over for the foreseeable future.

Queue up the CF “Why NIL Is Great” articles lol.

Hope those t-shirts are paying off huge.

I have said probably 20 times on here NIL is not about selling t-shirts, it’s about how far wealthy donors are willing to push “NIL” to buy recruits. The SEC/TX/OK types are going to push it to the limits and have a bunch of kids making over $1M on the team while we have Brock and Breece doing $50 cameo’s and selling t-shirts.

Not to mention the big elephant in the room regarding CMC seeing this as a less attractive long term spot as part of all of this…

I don’t see us landing in a good spot. Big 12 leftovers + the best MWC/AAC schools is where this thing is going IMO.
As soon as this goes official, the financial impact, along with the recruiting impact may be almost immediate. 2021 is the last hurrah.
