It's not even a ******* knock on ISU. JFC Missouri is essentially the only show in that state. The state has 3 times as many people in it as Iowa. Not hard to figure out why they have a larger fanbase.
Here's another bad assumption you've got going. What about fanbase in other metropolitan areas, all of which are accessible via internet channels? I see your argument going out the window now.

Guy was arguing people care about Kansas football because he talked to a KU fan in Scottsdale.

You're a moron. Stop acting like Mizzou is some national brand. Kansas City is a KU town first, K State second and Mizzou third. St. Louis is not a college football city by any stretch of the imagination.
Nobody is acting like Mizzou is a national brand dude. I'm saying why they are more attractive than ISU. It's you ******* morons that think after 4 winning seasons that all of a sudden we are a top 10 program that everyone wants.

You called them the only show in the state...... Chiefs, Cardinals, and Kansas right across the border lol
The only college team that occupies every corner of the state. Sure there are some Illinois fans in St. Louis and in the eastern part of the state just like KU fans in KC and the West but overall Missouri has the largest fanbase of any of them in MO.

Now I'm stupid for saying Iowa has more fans than ISU. I thought we all kn
Nobody goes to UCLA and USC games either yet they are still more attractive schools than ISU.
2019 attendance - USC 66k, UCLA 57k.

Sorry, you have a lot of Mizzou fans around you. That doesn't change the fact that their grads are concentrated in the two metros between which Mizzou is cradled and they have MAC- level attendance.

# of fans willing to claim they are fans means nothing. # of fans willing to pay some money and put out some effort to proactively take in the product means everything. If you're 2 hours each from two major metros within your own state, have a 30k enrollment and draw that poorly when you go 8-5 in the SEC, then you aren't attractive in the new era of CFB media.

They also have the Cardinals, Royals, Chiefs and the Blues, there are as many KU fans living in KC than Mizzou fans if not more. Leaving in Southern Iowa, and going to Kirksville a lot, I see few Mizzou jackets or shirts.
Lots of closet fans in the Mizzou fan base that could not care a bit out their teams unless they are really good.

Another board nailed it, you form the Wild West conference, you admit no one who is anyone near an ocean, you will be the premier college football conference in 15 years. People will come crawling back to us, you give me 10 minutes to convince CMC of this privately and in person, and then you believe.

I always felt like it was 60/40 KU in KC. I know when I lived in Maryville the bars were packed every time Mizzou played just like they are in central Iowa when Iowa or ISU plays.
