The Big Ten Commish was quoted saying decisions made today will impact the next 50 years of college athletics. These leaders are playing chess and message board posters are playing checkers. Anyone who claims they know one way or the other are imbeciles.

On that note, Iowa States enrollment and in turn future alumni base, facilities and success on the field are trending in a positive direction. Future forecast I am sure is a major part in all of this.

That doesn't say anything other than they didn't get a hard no, which isn't surprising.
100%. This is just public posturing to let the fans know that the people in charge are doing their jobs.

In an instance like this one… the less you are saying publically means that things are going your way behind the scenes.

If they create a 30 team super conference not all of the blue bloods can be dominant. Wait until Texas or Michigan or Georgia is going 6-6 regularly.
Rumors going around that were offering OU and Texas 1 and 1/2 shares of the revenue and everyone else loses partial of the share. **** that, we did that we barely lived through that once and I freaking hated it, screw that

Agree, if it comes to that just let them leave. In the end it still wouldn’t be enough and they would want more in the next 10 years.

THAT is my fear - that, in a futile act of desperation, the rest of the Big 12 will let those 2 A Holes off the hook in terms of the grant of rights. And then those 2 A Holes will promptly leave.

I'd probably be ok with something performance based. Say if you make the playoff you get to keep 75% of the payout and the rest is split between the other members.
They can't make the playoffs without being in a Power 5 conference.

The article says it was at the 50000 ft level of discussion. I have no doubt a AD said it and it was discussed but that is far from offered. Not to mention TX and OU weren't in attendance to receive it. We know that Thursday's meeting was to discuss all contingencies and I'm sure some outlandish ways to entice UT & OU were purposed and we may see more articles like this over the next week. Adding an extra share won't get either school back to the fold anyways IMO.

??? To be clear, I wasn't asking anyone to post premium info. Just curious if there is info to be found there.

I find it beneficial and I encourage everyone to support CF. You do have to factor in as well, however, what CW himself has said during coaching searches (in non-premium communications). Jamie Pollard plays it very close to the vest when the chips are down--always has and always will. So there are limits to what he is going to let be shared with just about anyone.

I agree. The longer JP stays quiet the better I will feel about this. I'm sure once OU and UT formally announce their intentions to leave he will release a statement, but right now the statements from some of the leftover schools in the south reek of desperation.

Agreed. I prefer quiet desperation myself. ;)
