I think you to the B1G is a no brainer.

I don't see any good outcomes for my school. We should fit with the Pac 12, Competitive in almost everything.... 3 NY6 Bowls, 2 B12 championships and a close title game loss in the last 8 years, MBB and WBB National Championships, Good Baseball which P12 likes. Ranked higher by USN&WR than every non-California member except UW. Allegedly on track to be R1/T1 by 2024....

but alas, Stanford will never allow it.

We are going to end up in an improved but still minor league AAC.
I would say the good news for Baylor is you have a good number of wealthy donors, so if you did end up in a league like that you would likely be top dog from a facilities (not to mention location) standpoint.

How on earth could anyone believe 'projections' in this atmosphere? Projections are tainted honey preying on the gullible. At this time I would question the math of every source.

As an side. Is there anyone else who hates that the site remembers a post you 'started' but chose to 'abandon' and, yet, it still posts next time you respond to anything else in the thread? I've had to get real quick with the 'edit' feature.

Seems like only a couple years ago that ESPN had to fire a whole bunch of people. These are the people that they're going to get a mega-contract from

“The problem with Disney is an ESPN problem,” Lee said. “As great a company as Disney is, there are structural issues. They need to address that fact that they’ve built a business model that is unsustainable.”

Not exactly sure.
This math doesn’t make much sense to me. It’s $370M to $72M with the loss of Texas and OU. So it’s saying that UT and OU are worth $150M each… while the other 8 schools are worth half of that combined.

Is the SEC’s TV deal going to increase by $300M a year with the addition of these two? If not then it’s hard to figure out how this works.

I would guess based on nothing that an 8 leftovers + Houston/UCF/Cincinnati/one more league would be in the neighborhood of $15-20M a year per school. That’s 2-3x the American and half the Pac-12 and ACC.
It’s a story from a Texas shill.

That's exactly what will happen to the ones that don't find a home. It costs a fortune to get a new league up and running. The AAC and MW already have all of that infrastructure in place and would also be able to open up their media deals with new membership.

I think it depends. If we get our ideal situation and only 1-2 of the current big 12 members are without landing spots, then yes, those members will be folded into other leagues.

If it's more like 6-8 members still around because the big 10/pac-12 didn't expand, then the big 12 will be doing the adding- it'll still suck compared to now but the big 12 remnants plus a few top G5 teams are still better than the current AAC/MWC. Plus they'll want to hold the big 12 together to get Texas and OUs payouts at that point.

I compare this to the silence from the ISU AD and that makes me a bit hopeful.
I think this is also due to a real feeling of betrayal they have over there. They've been in the same conference since forever, and a good, stable partnership. Regardless of whatever they are working on behind the scenes, they are pissed off.

I'm going to go ahead and bet that the B10 isn't going to change the model that's led to it's long term stability while nearly every other conference (outside the SEC) has had defections or threats of defections. Adopting the revenue model that collapsed the B12 seems like a pretty foolish decision and there's no scenario where any B10 schools would vote for it.

A more likely outcome would be tOSU leaving the B10 if they felt they could either A.) Make significantly more money elsewhere. or B.) No longer compete for national championships in the B10. In order to avoid that playing out, the B10 needs to make a move to create a better football conference, that's why I think you're going to see the B10 join up with the top of the P12.

The boost doesn't really come from a "per team added" basis, that's just functionally how it's measured. The boost will come because there is no longer a B12 or P12 conference to bid on
, so you've consolidated premium inventory and reduced competition, increasing the bid for the B10 inventory. Would a merged B12/P12 get a bid? Absolutely, but if you remove Texas/OU/USC/Oregon/Etc. the bid might be $12M per school instead of $35M per school - the difference would get bid towards the B10 contract.
So now there will be more money because of less competition to bid on? OK well will there not be less competition to bid on when the Big 12 dies, and therefore will there not be more money for each league that takes the remaining big 12 schools?
I get what you are saying, "go big or go home and not expand", regarding the big 10, but Fox has as much if not more to say about this whole thing, and I just cannot see them wanting to kill off the Pac 12, and throw their entire lot into the Big 10 when ESPN will have both the SEC and the ACC.
If they can, then the remaining schools are screwed, but its also as likely that both the Pac 12 and Big 10 expand and try to use that new content to take on the SEC and ACC.

Curious, why silence from Jamie Pollard a good thing. I understand ranting on twitter is not professional.

Doing crap like that on public mediums means you're all out of ideas and you're not getting anywhere else. Last ditch hail mary to get the public on your side.

Notice Iowa State and Kansas and WVU are the ones keeping the most quiet.

That's how bad the Big 12 is now.... the MWC is thinking of adding our schools to their conference, instead of the other way around. Puke.

And irony of circular ironies, considering how Mountain West came to be. SWC disbanded, Big 8 merged with the "big boys to form Big 12, WAC grabbed remnants of SWC "leftovers" to go to 16 teams, tension among existing vs. new members ensued, disgruntled WAC members formed MWC, WAC eventually died on vine ...

Of course, but we don't have much to offer, unfortunately. Bowlsby thought he was safe when he wasn't and the SEC stayed on offense and here we are.

Hoping for a BIG or Pac-12 invitation when you are, unfortunately, irrelevant on a national-level is a massive wish...and one that the other 7 schools in our conference likely understands. I'm saying, is there an offensive/aggressive approach we can take to attract 2-4 brands to stay afloat? I think 1.5 shares, power, and a clear path to the playoff could be enticing to the right schools...just have to find the right schools.

USC may be a prime candidate, offer them an immediate $55 million distribution (1.5 share). The PAC-12 isn't much safer than the Big 12 was 1 week ago, if they lose USC and UCLA/Oregon, we've effectively traded situations and put the PAC-12 in panic mode. A&M may be willing to listen if it means they can avoid TEX and be the elite of the conference, who knows? There is at least a reason to go and be aggressive with the right schools.
Sorry I hate using the dumb response but I just think there's no way in hell usc jumps to the Big 12 lol. Also tamu is too proud to run from UT now. Our best bet is to hope for big ten status. Last and worst case is inviting Houston and company...ugh please not that.
