I was living in Phoenix when the Fiesta Bowl was going on. Nobody even knew the game was being played other than ISU and Oregon fans.
Dedric, I feel like you need a hug. You must know that COVID had a chilling effect on everything, right? I'm not super hopeful about our prospects either but I think we're in the best position we can be in at this critical time. And I'm not a CF hero who says he'll keep supporting a relegated ISU football program, I won't. But I'm trying to stay positive...

I'd still watch all of our games but it would take a lot of fun out of it. I couldn't handle hearing Iowa fans.

I'm all about sticking it to OU and Texas. I'm not sure even winning the conference championship is going to move the needle. Boise State has been playing exciting football for years and has even won the Fiesta Bowl and they still can't find a home in a major conference. I like watching NDSU play too.
You're right, man. But until we're officially relegated there's at least some hope...

Who said we weren't better? The point is it's still not enough to make conferences reach out.
This is a fair point but I think you're jumping the gun a bit.. There are only a few brands left out there that actually move the needle and conferences would actively seek out. Everyone knows the brands so I'm not going to name them, but none of them are looking like they're going to be moving. This is going to take time for conferences to figure out what they want to do.

The Pac-12's new commissioner is not going to sit there and do nothing while the Big Boys in that conference jump ship to the B1G. AND, even if that does happen, you're still sitting there with a bunch of schools who are FAR better than some sort of hybrid AAC/Big12. That is not a mid major and it'd 100% get an automatic bid.

The uncertainty of this all causes anxiety and I understand how easily it can be think negatively, but we're not screwed. A LOT of things have to continue to go wrong before we're screwed and I'm going to choose and wait till those things happen before I throw in the towel.

But would you? I didn't sign up for a G5 program to follow. I'll be out. Maybe casually follow the Ducks since my sister went to UO...

STL to Nashville doesn’t get enough rep for how freakin brutal that stretch is.

See, I’ve driven that route a few times, and i think it’s perfectly fine. Plenty of trees, some big lakes - there’s some scenery there.

Once you get past Murfreesboro and on down through Chattanooga, now that is pretty neat, with the Smoky Mountains and all.

You know what sucks? Atlanta on down to anywhere in Florida. Nothing but red dirt everywhere you look.

KU to the B1G would make possible a new worst case scenario:

B1G adds KU and Colorado

Pac-12 goes to 14 with Tech, TCU, OSU

Iowa State, K-State, Baylor, West Virginia bring the American to 15 and they add on UAB or something

just trying to keep myself from getting too high on the possibility of playing conference games in Madison and MPLS

We took that route a couple of weeks ago on our way to S. Carolina. Not bad at all, once you get to Paducah Ky. its a nice scenic drive, Nashville is a mess, we have to find a better way of going around the city instead of straight through. The further east you get, the better the drive, Tenn. and N and S Carolina are beautiful states to drive through.

By far the worst drives for us are Iowa to Dallas, Kansas just sucks and N. Oklahoma is not much better, but at least you can fly on the toll road, and Nebraska west to Colorado. Both drives are nothing but prairie, with a town every 50 miles or so.

That is typical of most bowls. For the past several years we have visited the gkids at Christmas in St Petersburg, where bowl game is played at Tropicana Field. Really a dump venue unless your team is playing there. (Also goes for Orlando.)

The drive down to the Ozarks is worse. All those ****** up backroads. Don't drink and drive there either because they'll catch you. Got a DUI at 7am in Camdenton back in '07. Not fun.
where would you suggest is a good place to drink and drive?
