Never claimed to. I am saying every reliable source out there has ISU on the outside looking in. Not message board warriors…actual journalists talking to people in the industry. They all state it’s wishful thinking for any member of the leftover 8 to be added to a power conference.

This is a reality we must be prepared for. I think the fallout from this reality will lead to cut programs, halts on all projects, loss of Campbell and Pollard. Again, I know nothing. I am just being a realist.

Lol reliable sources. You are dense.

Why would USC go to the Big 10? "Hey , let's fly all of our teams back East all year and play road games in Ann Arbor and Iowa City in late Nov!"

They're USC. They don't need the Big 10. All they need to do is hire a good coach.

Because the B1G will make what, double? Triple? What USC makes in the PAC?

USC will make plenty of money if they just hire a good coaching staff. When they're good they get plenty of eyeballs. If they only care about money they should just join the SEmiproC.

ISU will not be in the Big 10. Kansas likely will. We need to accept that a reconstructed Big 12 is our fate. The only report out there was from Kirk Bohls that said ISU and KU were politely shot down. This is where we are at: relegated. This is the hand we were dealt. I see us losing Campbell this year and Pollard shortly after. The transformation to G5 will then be complete. I am a realist and see the pickle the leftover 8 are.

Edit: here is a link to Dennis Dodd’s CBS today on this exact topic
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cb...texas-oklahoma-shaking-up-the-conference/amp/
Did you read the article you linked? He floats the idea of a merger of the leftovers and Pac-12 at the end. Nowhere near as dour as you seem to think.

ISU would be 8th in the B1G in attendance, using 2019 numbers.
What other numbers would they be looking at? TV revenue doesn't really tell you much. Alamo Bowl ratings? Fiesta Bowl ratings?

Admittedly, this does not add any new "TV" markets. But if the new model they're going off of isn't based on strictly TV numbers, that might make ISU more attractive.

Just stop. You're not being a realist. You're being a fatalist. There are no reliable sources out there who are speaking, so quit saying ISU is doomed. We know full too well what your opinion is, so stop trying to present it as fact.

Big name working for big network /= credibility. The guy is a columnist, not an insider.

He’s basically doing what everyone else is doing, throwing **** at the wall. The only difference with someone like him and random message board/twitter posters is he’s paid to write ****. He has no more of a clue than anyone else.

They wont even sniff the amount of money the big ten schools will make in a new media deal (they don't even come that close now) as long as they stay in the Pac12. That's the reason they would move and their brand is what the Big Ten wants.

In conference realignment, academics—not athletics—are king | Opinion - Deseret News

Dennis Dodds ofc pooo poood this as he tweeted the article...Ofc he would.

Some people in this realignment debate laugh at AAU mattering. It 100% matters to the BIG and the PAC.

No school is getting in the BIG without AAU..period.

ISU might cost BIG schools $2-$3 Mil a year less for joining the BIG (debatable)...But the added research consortium in the BIG ISU adds to dwarfs this..

These are President's making the final decision within the BIG..Not AD's.

Schools need both. Need to have excellent academics, AAU membership, and excellent athletics to be added. Having one just isn't going to cut it unless they expand way past 16.

Nebraska not AAU member. Rutgers and Maryland horrible athletics. Big 10 no different than SEC or any other conference. It’s about projected revenue.

If it's money, like I said, they should just join the SEC. I'm sure ESPN would allow it.

Nebraska was AAU when added rutgers probably wouldn't be added now unless they really thought the market had a ton of value like it did 10 years ago.
