Big 10 will always brag about the quality and integrity of their product but it’s bogus. No different than anyone els
Some of posts on this board are interesting. But that one, your comment was laced in elitism, not based on reality or facts and you sounded like a prick posting on another teams board and it was weird.
Wait saying a school has to have great academics and athletics to be added to the big ten is laced with elitism?

Sh*tty as they are now, Nebby is a historical blueblood who was an AAU member at the time and finished 1st in their Big 12 division for three straight seasons before joining the B1G. I'm sure the B1G bigwigs knew their AAU membership was on the outs but it was valid at the time of entry and they brought a national brand. Rutgers and Maryland was 100% about TV footprint/revenue. But in terms of academics the B1G and SEC aren't even in the same stratosphere.
Well they added three the last round of expansion. Who knows what their criteria is now but I’m sure it’s ultimately still $$$. ISU would be a great fit academically and athletically but doesn’t bring dollars to the table so not a serious candidate.

ISU fits perfectly in the BIG in every way...but I digress.

I guarantee you that you can get just as good of an undergraduate education at Mississippi State as you can at any school in the Big 10 except for maybe Northwestern.
Sorry, no. Unless it's in ag or something. But a BA/BS from Mississippi St. is absolutely not going to be regarded on the same level as a BA/BS from Michigan, Wisco, Illinois, etc. Not even close.
Historically yes. Prob like 9th or 10th all time.. Past 20 years? Average.
Let's be clear Nebraska got into AAU bc Osborne had an "in" within the AAU voting ranks and did a favor...Once Neb got in the AAU committee said "Ok that was a fun 6 months now goodbye"..
AAU Membership to the BIG is #1 starting point.

You are still going to get the same quality of education. Those ranking are all based on grad schools and everyone knows it. It's total horse$hit. When I got to ISU I pretty much had grad students teaching classes until my senior year. I paid to learn from PHD's
Mississippi State has the #2 Landscape Architecture program in the nation. You trying to tell me if you have a Bachelors in that from there in that they are going to say "no thanks your schools overall ranking is in the 200's you should have done that program at a Big 10 school"? Probably not. Just like Criminal Justice at Central Missouri State. It's one of the best in America.
