The football Instagram account just posted a nice catch from Scates.
We were 94th in FBS with only 10 touch backs last year, and 80th in avg kickoff return yards. Having a kicker that can push the ball through the endzone would be huge. That's on top of having a guy with more range and accuracy on FGs.... But I'd also throw in Andrew Mevis. A kicker has the chance to add a lot to the 2020 season.
The answer to this question usually is tied to who gets injured. Last year it was downing injured and Simmons really stepping up big. Other candidate from last year would be foster, and? I can't think of anyone else last year that really surprised me.
If not due to injury, the obvious choice would be Noel or Jackson. But I'd also throw in Andrew Mevis. A kicker has the chance to add a lot to the 2020 season.
Good god.I'm hoping it is one Brock Purdy. He is already great, but I would love to see him step into first-round draft status.
Jason Scales still has eligibility left?Scales certainly has all the physical tools to be a standout. I can't remember if it was Scales or Shaw or both that kept forgetting to step off the line when the TE shifted up to the line. It seemed like it happened 5-6 times last year. I know at least one TD was called back because of it. That is the kind of stuff that will keep you off the field.
Not demanding it - he has already given Iowa State one hell of a lot. Just hoping for it!Good god.
No. I totally agree. I’m just thinking if he plays at a first round level, the ceiling for us as a team is unmentionably high…..Not demanding it - he has already given Iowa State one hell of a lot. Just hoping for it!
